  1. Jack Flaherty identifies as African American. I would bet Max is considered a bit of a political unicorn among white big leaguers, although he wasn't opposed to going to the White House after the 2019 World Series win as Sean Doolittle was. https://www.axios.com/2019/11/04/washington-nationals-white-house-visit
  2. I think you might be right! If i had to guess the guy most likely to go for Kamala, I'd guess Stinky McStinky. And I wouldn't feel particularly confident about even that. Again, none of that matters. I can easily compartmentalize my baseball consciousness away from my political consciousness.
  3. I just assume every white major leaguer is a red hat, and then I just dismiss the thought from my head altogether. That way, if I find out they're on this side, I am pleasantly surprised. Not that any of it matters at all in terms of how I enjoy baseball.
  4. Imagine the reaction were the Harris campaign to hold her out of events because of "exhaustion". Also, if Trump is exhausted, doesn't this tell us he's not up a job that requires an inexhaustible occupant? Wouldn't that be a disqualifer? And what other job does this guy even have that this would exhaust him?
  5. He might as well just flat out admit he's done the thing.
  6. You guys must have been a riot at high school parties. 😉
  7. Sure they have. That's what industry leaders are paying for!
  8. I’m gonna give Trump the benefit of the doubt on that one.
  9. Further to the point: … in the interest of consumers.
  10. Libertarians should not be anywhere near the White House except if they’re on the paid tour.
  11. Tucker Carlson works for Moscow, so of course he’s going to shït all over the United States and its people, same as Trump does. My impression is that even acknowledging the wide population gap between the two, the economic and military might of the United States outpaces those of China by a factor of multiples. Confirm or reject?
  12. Had to get the girls from somewhere.
  13. I think any attempt to ban and confiscate guns would be the most likely trigger for something close to a civil war, because a lot of those gun people trained for that very scenario.
  14. Here’s another thing they have in common: they both helmed productive legislation and/or enacted presidential orders that did much to help ordinary people.
  15. I think you know that’s not it.
  16. As logical as this sounds, counterpoint is that Jack Smith did release transcript evidence that Trump knew he lost, and acknowledged as much, which suggests he knew the election was fair and square.
  17. I fully expect the Weinstein Walker if/when Trump goes to court next time.
  18. The downside of a strong economy.
  19. That’s actually a problem if there’s any goal to limit the spread of misinformation.
  20. Hey, here’s an idea for the Rays!
  21. What’s probably wrong is they’re finally realizing they don’t need to send him out into the world anymore. They’re not gaining anyone new and they’re probably losing people when he goes out. Just hope the media have the stones to finally, finally, highlight his mental deficiencies during the final three weeks.
  22. I was always surprised that Bally didn't lean into the whole gambling integration thing more than they did.
  23. Not even one bad inning, necessarily—more like two bad back-to-back pitches. I don't know whether anyone has studied this, but I believe that the best first pitch for a hitter to swing at is the one after the pitcher just plunked a guy, because I wonder whether pitchers want to just throw the next pitch in the strike zone to prove they can still do it. I actually worried about that before the first pitch to Lane Thomas. Lane Thomas—doesn't sound like a furniture brand? Maybe even a furniture store?
  24. Twang Sox? We could have fun with that one!
  25. Interesting thought. I would be for the Brewers coming back to the AL, partially because that's my history, mostly because that would mean the Tigers would go there semiannually instead of biannually. Based on their recent run of success, though, I don't see them as eager to leave the NL Central anytime soon.
