  1. Vikes shutting down the run game so far.
  2. I thought it was a weak call. And that flag was late af.
  3. How the hell do you ever line up off sides?
  4. The thing that worries me the most about today's game is that the Vikings have been treated to a solid week of national reporters and talking heads saying how they're the most fraudulent 10-2 team in the history of the NFL and how lucky they are. Which may or may not be true, but I suspect their players have a little bit of pride, and might be keen to prove everyone wrong. They've been hearing all week how Okuda shut Jefferson down in the first game -- which he did, and yet the Vikes still won. What are the chances that Jefferson is kept quiet a second time? I think the Lions should win today, but I don't think it lines up as nicely as a lot of the local and national sports media seem to think.
  5. Should of offered Judge 15 at $600 million.
  6. Baker Mayfield starting for LA 2 days after being claimed off waivers, then screwing up the Lions pick from the Rams is the most SOL thing in the history of SOL. Baker fucking Mayfield.
  7. I was curious what the defensive comparison over the last five games would look like, and while I couldn't find a website that would sort in that manner, teamrankings.com adds a Last 3 Games column for all of their team stats, so here's what those numbers look like (minus red-zone efficiency): Points Allowed DET: 20.0 MIN: 29.3 Total Defense DET: 360 MIN: 398 Rushing Defense DET: 116.0 MIN: 105.3 Passing Defense DET: 244.0 MIN: 347.7 3rd Down Defense % DET: 40.54 MIN: 41.86 Takeaways: DET: 5 MIN: 2 I calculated points allowed for the last 5 games, because that's easy: DET: 19.8 MIN: 27.0
  8. The defense has improved by a lot, though. They're now about what I hoped they'd be to open the season.
  9. It's crazy how when Campbell fired his OC, the offense got good, and when he fired his DB coach, the defense got good. Maybe he knows more than fans do.
  10. I had them at 6-11 before the season started, and it looked like that wouldn't happen after the first 8 games. Now, I'd be disappointed with that.
  11. Nah, they are still in the hunt. They have put themselves in the position where the rest of the games are must-win by starting so poorly, and also by playing so well over the last five. Let's hold them to a higher standard than we're used to.
