  1. I wish there was the option just to listen to crowd noise. And during the commercials, I would just be happy to watch the beginning of Baywatch, where the women are running on the beach. (That is in case the whole Trappist thing doesn’t work out).
  2. Clean first inning for Jack.
  3. They rely upon Kentucky Bourbon Fruitcake. Which is apparently pretty good, (and the Tigers got that play at first base overturned).
  4. And we begin with a fluke hit.
  5. If they lose this game, the only thing that would keep me from giving up, leaving the ordinary world, and becoming a Trappist monk in Kentucky, is that I’m probably too old and I’d have to learn Latin. So I guess I’m stuck here for the duration.
  6. So what channel is it truly gonna be on? I’m not sure what people are saying or if they’re joking.
  7. This rain really pisses me off. It reminds me of why I moved. When I moved from the Midwest to Tucson, Arizona in 1974 I went from 75 truly sunny days a year to 300. The spring and the fall were not gloomy, and while the summer was, admittedly, quite hot, there were no freaking mosquitoes. There were mountains right outside of town and when you drove up to the top, it was 30° cooler. To be honest, I have never missed the Midwest.
  8. Listening to old jocks talk baseball bores me. I’d rather listen to nerds who are more entertaining and have a different take on the game. But that wouldn’t rope in the casual fans.
  9. That would be nice and with Daniella appropriately attired.
  10. The game is now officially beginning in delay.

  12. No one’s talking about rain or giving drive way reports so I’m assuming it isn’t a problem.
  13. Oh wow, we were both thinking about Jerry Williams at the same exact time. Cool!
  14. When I was a kid in Northeast Indiana, I could pick up WJR and Ernie really easily. And being isolated in a backwoods area, so to speak, it was exciting to pick up WBZ from Boston which came in loud and clear at night and be exposed to Jerry Williams fascinating interviews with people and incursions into current events. Being exposed to something more cosmopolitan than a town of 5000 people surrounded by farmland could provide was really exciting.
  15. Sheesh, so we’re going to have to get back to driveway reports?
  16. Man, this stuff is getting really dramatic. Have a good time at the game, Rob. These games are starting to get as intense as watching Hurt Locker. It sure would be nice to get an early lead and not to have to hope to squeak by on just a couple runs.
  17. In the second game of the series between the Cubs and the Brewers, they’re trading three run homers. What an idea, hitting a home run that counts for three runs, three whole runs. Wow that would be something. That’s like living in a dream world.
  18. I can’t honestly blame DD specifically but we went from losing one World Series 4-1 to losing the next one 4–0. So there’s a pattern of sorts going on here.
  19. I just dislike both teams - the Dodgers less so - but the part of me that is entirely petty and envious and resentful wants the Phillies to lose because I don’t want Dombrowski’s successes to be rubbed in our faces again.
  20. Dodgers win, and Phillies screw the pooch failing in their comeback.
  21. Tropicana Field’s roof is being repaired and should be finished by December, and all the repairs - with a new artificial turf, surface - should be done by April 6, 2026. https://www.fox13news.com/news/tropicana-fields-new-24-roof-panels-take-six-days-each-fully-install.amp
  22. Thank you so much. I don’t have a vested interest in the failure of this project although I understand how people in Oakland must feel.
  23. David Brown, who played the odd guy Todd Gregory in the show was one of my daughter‘s best friends in high school at Boise High. He was the class valedictorian and a real interesting guy. I spent a lot of time around him. I’m happy for whatever success he gains. He’s lately been in insurance ads with JK Simmons.
  24. Oh wow. “Very interesting” is perhaps an understatement
