Ramirez getting thrown out racing to home in the bottom of the 9th must’ve been crushing for Cleveland fans I mean, devastating especially after the sheer joy that swept through the crowd when he made it to third base. I’m 73 and almost everyone I know is younger than me. And a lot of them can be pretty cool people. It’s not like I think everyone younger is a moron. But it’s getting hard to find anyone who understands my more clever jokes that make a lot of cultural and historical references to things from when I was growing up with the hinge being something like the utterance “plastics” from the film The Graduate. If you have to explain it, it’s not funny. On the rare times when I’m with my old friends from college one word like that can reduce us all to jelly. I miss that kind of connection and rarely ever find it any longer.
