I really like Bobby a lot. I’m not sure how the Tigers happened to pick up on him, but it’s working for me at least.

When I was listening to the game on the radio in my car, Dan mentioned that Baez has only walked once in his last 180 bats.

I stopped following this game temporarily because I’m a weakling, but I’m glad to know that in a critical situation the Mets had to rely on Ryan Helsley and that he failed once again. Giving up on this team temporarily and taking solace in the fact that another player on another team failed doesn’t speak well of me, but I’ll take a win anyway I can get it.

Brad Ausmus would. Although I don’t know who I’d trust anymore.

12-2. This is a pretty emphatic example of what happens going up against a really really good team and it’s indicative of some of the weaknesses in this club. It is just two games, but it’s indicative.

I just re-watched the the 2023 war film Sisu for the umpteenth time because I needed to arm myself with a dose strident optimism before watching this game.

If the Tigers win this game, I’ll eat my hat. Although I don’t wear hats.

I’m not sure how to fix this team because they have more problems in run prevention than they do in scoring runs. Perhaps Theodoric of York the medieval barber has the solution:

After today’s loss to the Mets, pitching seems like a pretty big deal. After all the Tigers did score 8 runs and normally that would be enough. One of the previous knocks on this team was the dearth of bats and position players in the minors. But that issue now seems to have been addressed. So aside from Jackson Jobe, do the Tigers have some arms in the minors that we can rely upon when the position players come up here?

No, although that’s a good one. My favorite one is After Hours the one with Ann Francis, and the mannequins. In the end she remembers who and what she really is.
