  1. I’m envious the weather in Detroit right now. Where I live in Idaho it’s 40° hotter and it’s going to be pretty much 100° plus for at least the next 10 days.
  2. All their base are belong to us so far.
  3. We had tickets directly behind the Celtics bench. Coming off the floor, Bill Russell shook his head and I was sprayed by his sweat which I now I see as a kind of strange sort of baptism by Greatness. My dad knew someone at the corporate office for Standard Oil in Detroit and I think he gave the tickets to my dad. He also got us tickets to the 5th game of the World Series in 1968.
  4. It’s raining on the driveway in my heart right now.
  5. Well, they at least made it interesting. Sigh…
  6. Thanks for letting me know. Had to turn off the volume for a moment and missed that
  7. OK. Hit a lead off HR, then let it pour.
  8. When this team surprises me by exploding like this, it’s like rubbing two sticks together and you’re in Los Alamos. Wow!
  9. Gio Urshela homers (3) on a fly ball to left center field. Colt Keith scores. Carson Kelly scores.
  10. Saw numerous Komets games at the Colosseum when I was a kid. And my dad took me to see one of those games where the Pistons came back to town as they did I think once or twice a year for a few years after they moved to Detroit, and we sat directly behind the Celtics bench.
  11. It’s 103° in Boise Idaho and on the asphalt it’s 110° and I have a magnifying glass out and I’m focusing it on a red ant I’ve named Kenta. It’s the way I’ve learned to deal with stress.
  12. If I were a betting man, which I’m not, I wouldn’t bet the farm on the Tigers winning this game, but you never know. Maeda could have a good game.
  13. Two hours and 11 minutes? It’s like a game from the 1960s.
  14. I have lowered my expectations to five runs.
  15. Attendance at these Reds games fell precipitously with each Tigers win: Friday- 40,000 Sat- 31,000 Sun- 25,000 A team that was flying high after sweeping the Yankees in the Bronx was brought to its knees by the Tigers, crying and begging for mercy by the end of this series. “Please don’t hurts us!” they pleaded but to no avail. PHFFT! TIGERS WIN!
  16. This has been a good week for me. Oh wait, let me do this right… sorry… My name is Bert and I’m a Tigers fan… I’m not used to things working out, anyone else familiar with that?
