  1. When I scroll through Peacock, I can scroll forever and find a little I’m interested in. The only thing I use Peacock for is watching major cycling races. Sometimes they have a movie I saw at the theater and it comes to Peacock first and I’ll watch it again. Why everybody there in the business producing content and if it’s only content it’s still a victory.
  2. Matt Vierling homers (10) on a fly ball to left center field.
  3. God, I hate this ump. Obvious strikes called balls. Loaded no outs.
  4. A little bit before my time, but the first person to open the Twin Falls, Idaho Coca-Cola distributorship was one of Cobb’s sons. Twin Falls is famous for being the place where Evel Knievel tried to jump the Snake River Canyon. I didn’t see that either, but I didn’t care to travel from Lafayette, Indiana to see it. I struck up a conversation with a former Idaho state trooper at a Holiday Inn Express once and he was on the policing detail at the Snake River Canyon event, and he said it was the worst day of his life.
  5. The above is an imaginary photo I assembled of a fictitious game that was never played in Detroit featuring Ty Cobb and the Phillies Grover Cleveland Alexander. I assumed we were going to be destroyed by the Phillies and had a really negative whiny crybaby photo already assembled for the third game of the series so I had to change gears and do something positive. You’re welcome. Just so you know what a whiny crybaby I can be I will show you the photo I did assemble. I don’t think I’m alone in being whiny because we do a lot of of that around here.

  7. Skubal at only 78 tosses after 6 innings and his last two pitches topped 100 MPH.
  8. Ibanez 2-run double. 3-0 Tigers.
  9. Suarez is due for a statistical meltdown, and it would be the whim of the universe if it happened in this game to our team. He can’t be perfect for nearly ever.
  10. I’m glad the no-hitter is off the table for both teams. Not only do I hate suspense like that and consider it a distraction, I think no hitters — like strikeouts — are fascist.

  12. If you knew Demeter was a greek goddess when you were a kid, you were raised under more elevated circumstances than myself. I’m envious.
  13. When I wanted to find a picture suitable for the above post I typed “moron wearing Detroit Tiger cap“ into Google and aside from this photo, three photos of Brad Ausmus showed up among the first dozen photos, and that struck me as unfair. There was also a photo of Ian Kinsler right up near the top and also a photo of Smokes. Google is really cruel.
  14. On December 5, 1963 the Tigers traded future Hall of Famer Jim Bunning, along with infielder Gus Triandos, to the Phillies in exchange for infielder Don Demeter and right-hander Jack Hamilton. Bunning had been with the Tigers for nine years, posting a 118-87 record with a 3.45 ERA. He made five All-Star games, including three in a row, and was one of the most durable arms in the league. per Motor City Bengals When I saw my first game at Tiger Stadium in 1964, I believe, I saw Don Demeter hit a towering 440 foot flyball out to dead center. It was breathtaking and heartbreaking.
