  1. The human body is not made for the punishment some of these sports require players to endure. When we were caveman, we never took a rock and threw it with various degrees of spin and bodily contortion 90 times every five days.
  2. Mize was placed on the injured list Saturday due to a hamstring strain, retroactive to May 9, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports. Mize pitched Thursday and dominated the Rockies, allowing one earned run with eight strikeouts across six innings. However, per Cody Stavenhagen of The Athletic, Mize felt a sensation in his hamstring late in the outing that was originally attributed to dehydration. The strain is considered mild — Per CBS News
  3. Oh crap! This is why we can’t have nice things.
  4. We’re already there. You get two more wishes from the magic lamp and you wasted one.
  5. FYI - Alex Cobb (hip) looked uncomfortable covering first base during a live batting practice session Friday, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.
  6. You are being kind by only referring to it as “fluff.“
  7. That was such heads up play it made me gasp. I don’t know if they could conceivably imagine something like this happening and have a plan in mind when it does or not. I just don’t remember seeing something like this before.
  8. Wow, the Dodgers pitching really sucks compared to ours:
  9. This is utterly amazing. I suppose it’s happened before, but it’s pretty much new to me in terms of paying attention game by game, pitch by pitch.
  10. They all “stayed within themselves“ and “pitched to the score“ so they were able to log more innings and start more games. There’s no way to compare the different eras.
  11. The statement “I’m tired“ made me wonder about Mickey Lolich’s high-pitch totals “back in the day“ so I looked it up and this is what Google AI gobbledygook told me. It told me that he pitched for the Detroit Tigers against the Detroit Tigers: AI Overview Mickey Lolich threw a total of 170 pitches in a single game, an 11-inning complete game, on Father's Day in 1974. The game was played at Tiger Stadium against the Detroit Tigers. Lolich also threw an 11-inning complete game, with the Tigers winning the game in a walk-off.
  12. Tomorrow’s the 40th game and I am here to say “so what!“ As Gypsy Rose Lee once noted, “It’s not how you start but how you finish that matters.” The Tigers finished strong last year and have started strong this year and that’s why we’re justified in our optimism, and it has nothing to do with any arbitrary number of games. End of rant.
  13. I don’t remember being this bad last year I think with this new TV deal they just have less money to play with and they do it on the cheap.
  14. It was like pulling teeth without anesthetic to get MLB to see the value in getting the most at bats possible for your best hitters.
  15. God Tigers Live is awful. Five minute commercial breaks?
  16. Just noticed that, a couple long at bats did us in
  17. The cute girls with the signs telling the fans to stand up don’t seem to be getting the job done
  18. Maybe the ball travels better west of the Mississippi River
  19. Please score more runs
  20. You are very good you are damn good.
  21. I left my phone in the car when I went into the restaurant with my son and the restaurant was a Tony Roma’s. I remember it well because when I came out and it was a successful no hitter I was pretty happy.
  22. I’ve never seen a four out inning
