  1. Looks like you’re right. I’ve added Lakeland to my Weather app for easy access just to keep up on these things.
  2. I didn’t know that they were all free MLB games of the day although it didn’t make much difference I was out with a friend and only got to follow the game on at bat toward the end. So I’m watching the Yankees feed right now.
  3. Of course it’s early spring. It doesn’t mean a lot, but a couple good innings from Casey Mize, and some hitting by Keith, Jung, and Dingler is certainly good to see.
  4. 39 min (34.5 mi) via I-4 Tampa to Lakeland.
  5. Carlos Peña tossing the bottom of the ninth for the Tigers.
  6. Austin Murr doubles (1) on a sharp line drive to right fielder Jared Wegner. Carlos Mendoza scores. Thank you!
  7. Carlos Mendoza doubles (1) on a line drive to left fielder Cole Gabrielson. Pour it on!
  8. This is that point in the game during this point early on in spring training when I’m not really sure which team is at bat because a lot of names are unfamiliar.
  9. Where can I sign up for World Series tickets?
  10. I notice really slipshod audio, and other things happening when I watch cycling races on Peacock. I get the feeling that somebody with connections got their kid to job as an unpaid intern and they don’t know what they’re doing. Last year for an eight day race, for the first seven days, they had an obvious misspelling on the opening graphics of one of the two major announcers for the first seven days and it’s like nobody cared enough to change it and I’m sure it was mentioned to them. There’s a lot of slave ship stuff going on with these big companies and they don’t care.
  11. They’re probably doing it on the cheap.
  12. Future Hall of Famer Ben Malgeri.
  13. Hinch is at the funeral of one of his coaches from Houston.
  14. It was really good. I don’t usually care about the pipeline because in all honesty it hasn’t been that much of a “pipeline“ over the years. I’m pretty much a Blue Plate Special guy, wondering what’s for dinner today exclusively, and I don’t tend to think too much about what’s for dinner in a couple years. But they gave me hope that the diner could be pretty fun in the future.
  15. That BA YouTube video was pretty helpful, for me at least. I feel like a sub-genius in terms of these players fitting into the mix in the next couple years.
  16. “It’s almost as if you had designed his stuff in a lab…” — I’m not quoting directly, but this is pretty much what they said.
  17. Somebody had to say it. Thank you.
  18. Yes, Hilary Duff’s older sister.
  19. Right over the border in Washington they grow some wicked good potatoes, just west of Coeur d’Alene, but in the 1950s they never got Marilyn Monroe to advertise for them by wearing an outfit made of potato gunnysacks so Idaho has this reputation for potatoes.
  20. Mormons prefer to be referred to as Latter-day Saints to emphasize their continuity with Christianity, a continuity that Catholics, Orthodox and Protestants see as distantly adjacent. The only reason I know any of this is that parts of Idaho are heavily Mormon although the county I live in where Boise‘s located is only 14% Mormon. If you’ve ever watched “Napoleon Dynamite,” Franklin County in Eastern Idaho where it was filmed is 91.5% Mormon. That area of the state is where all the potatoes are grown. People think that the entire state of Idaho is covered with potatoes, but it’s just one small area. It’s a tribute to the marketing genius of the Idaho Potato Commission to convince the entire world that the whole state is covered with potatoes like one big Victory Garden in World War II.
