  1. Once again, I can’t watch this game on FOX. Like the sad little boy who lives on the wrong side of the tracks in The Polar Express who never gets any presents, I got my hopes up when the national FOX feed of game 7 last night in Toronto pitched the opportunity to watch this Lions Vikings game on TV at home, but to no avail. When I checked my local YouTube TV listings I of course get my “local” or “regional“ broadcast of the Denver Broncos which is a whopping 12 hr. drive away and only accomplished if I never stop for food, drink or gas and am catheterized the whole way. I have never met anybody in the 38 years I’ve lived in Boise Idaho, who is an avid Denver Broncos fan among my extended family group, or friends, at work, or school, or anywhere for that matter.
  2. My life isn’t appreciatively affected by the outcome of this World Series. At least I don’t feel I’ve had my lungs removed and that I’m hanging upside down in a rural Swedish barn as in Midsommer or anything like I do when the Tigers lose just about any game.
  3. As Kurt Vonnegut says repeatedly in Slaughterhouse Five “so it goes.”
  4. Tied. Miguel Rojas homers (1) on a fly ball to left field.
  5. Ohtani comes up in this inning…
  6. Max Muncy homers (3) on a fly ball to right field. 4-3 Jays
  7. I would like a couple more runs to get to six simply for insurance, but also because I think there’s a certain cosmic symmetry to the number six.
  8. Poetic justice? Andrés Giménez doubles (2) on a line drive to right fielder Teoscar Hernández. Ernie Clement scores.
  9. Just do it Vlad!
  10. “Please tell our viewers what your secret strategy is.”
  11. It’s strange for me to be rooting for Max, but I am right now. Go Max go!
  12. Bo Bichette homers (1) on a fly ball to center field. George Springer scores. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. scores.
  13. If the Tigers were playing in this game, they wouldn’t have got thrown out trying to steal second base…
  14. At least we got the tedious and unnecessary tension of Max pitching a no hitter out of the way quickly.
  15. At the opening, they do show all these World Series celebrations and there’s a grainy black-and-white of Freehan and Lolich embracing so that made me happy. And OMG Max is pitching.
  16. To add insult to injury if there’s a TV on anywhere, it’ll probably have college football on instead of the World Series.
  17. here’s one I missed
  18. Took a walk during the day down Boise‘s historic Harrison Boulevard, which goes all out for Halloween. There’s a thousand people at night on the street and when the lights are on, it’s a much bigger deal but these photos will give you an idea of the creativity and the sense of competition that goes on to come up with neat stuff. I rezzed the photos down from 4MB each to 1MB so they’re not as nice as the original but you get an idea. it’s pretty incredible to go trick-or-treating at night with four kids like I used to, but there’s really long lines and if you go a couple blocks away, people will give you two fistfuls of candy because they get less traffic and they want to get rid of it.
  19. So we’re going to get a god-awful game seven. Well, you can’t say this isn’t dramatic.
  20. That was a hopeful, but in the end, disappointing, bottom of the eighth thinning for the Jay’s. Even the ump calling balls on low strikes wasn’t enough to push them over the edge and score some runs.
  21. Blame Moose and Squirrel! Not me…
  22. Dodgers now lead 3-0. And I’m having a moment of clarity about this. This is not my battle. It’s back to old Bullwinkle cartoons for me.
  23. Will Smith slaps a doubles on a fly ball to left fielder Nathan Lukes. Tommy Edman scores. Shohei Ohtani to 3rd. 1-0 LA
  24. So I guess I’m the only loser on Halloween night watching the World Series. All of the rest of you are getting drunk or high at adult themed Halloween parties or taking your children trick-or-treating because you’re wholesome types.
  25. Wow! Gausman with five strikeouts in the first two innings against the Dodgers.
