  1. Seven scoreless for Melton and I’m pretty sure he’s getting the handshake.
  2. Melton at only 73 pitches through six innings.
  3. Eduardo Rodriguez struck out the side in the fifth and is at only 80 pitches.
  4. It’s starting to feel that the befouled ghost within the machine of statistical regression has departed this club.
  5. Feel free to do play-by-play Ashley. 🙂
  6. Matt Vierling doubles (2) on a sharp line drive to center fielder Alek Thomas. Dillon Dingler scores.
  7. Dillon Dingler singles
  8. First a double then a homer
  9. For much of last season until “the run“ when I checked the box score during the game, the bottom four guys were all hitting -.200 and it’s nice to see that it’s not like that anymore. And they weren’t making up for it by walking a lot either.
  10. Melton’s looking good. The umpire’s not.
  11. So the Tigers only have 12 pitchers on the staff roster, for today at least.
  12. The ump is a strike zone idiot hopefully he’ll at least be a consistent idiot.
  13. Melton with a good first inning.
  14. I saw a game there a few years ago and it was spectacular. There were almost as many people wearing Tigers gear in the stands as Mariners gear. And of course, in the touristy areas, it was 3/4 people with Tigers gear. The roof was open, so I have no idea what it’s like when it’s closed.
  15. OK Meadows for Ibanez makes sense, but who sleeps with the fishes for Kreidler?
  16. Who went down to make room for Ibanez and Kreidler?
  17. MATT VIERLING CF GLEYBER TORRES 2B JAHMAI JONES DH SPENCER TORKELSON 1B RILEY GREENE LF ANDY IBÁÑEZ 3B DILLON DINGLER C WENCEEL PÉREZ RF JAVIER BÁEZ SS TROY MELTON SP
  18. I’m envious of all the games the rest of you have seen. The only game I’ve ever seen at Comerica was August 5, 2019 as a guest of our esteemed leader @MotownWebGuy who quite honestly treated me like a king. What a guy! We are fortunate to have him on our side and make this extraordinary playground available to us. It was a great time. It was an ordinary night game that lasted 3:41 minutes. Remember how long games used to be? It was the JaCoby Jones, Niko Goodrum era. Jake was the catcher. Miggy hit into his 14th double play of the year. Turnbull started and only lasted three innings. Gregory Soto took the loss in long relief. Jones hit a triple and a home run. The Tigers lost to the White Sox 7–4. And yes, the White Sox shortstop Tim Anderson treated us like we were his b*tch. The Tigers record at the time was 32–77. We labor under much better circumstances today.
  19. I hesitate to respond to this remark…
