The firestick enthusiastically pitched War of the Worlds: Revival to me, a 1:32 film starring Ice Cube as a top government security officer and Eva Longoria. It premiered today on Prime July 30. I watched the first 30 minutes and it’s basically Ice Cube who heads up the entire US security apparatus looking at 6 to 8 windows that are up simultaneously on his computer screen as the world is being attacked by giant machines. It’s honestly kind of disorienting and there’s a lot of times where you’re playing like a first person shooter in a video game. Luckily his son is an avid professional gamer and has figured out the whole end of the world invasion thing which is the way these things usually work. His daughter has also figured out how to heal humanity of all illness or something like that so the stakes are pretty high. It’s a pretty gifted family. The handful of reviews that are out are scathing and apparently the film is so bad they decided not to distribute it to theaters. I might finish watching it and I might not.

This is one of the more gratifying things I’ve been confronted with in a long time. It’s nice to see that we’re just not living in a dream world where we merely think the Tigers are doing something special. They’re walking the walk as well as talking the talk.

There’s a big difference between what can be accomplished in the Motor City and in the land of Norwegian bachelor farmers where everyone is merely “above average.”
