Tigerbomb13 Posted March 30, 2023 Posted March 30, 2023 Offense looked as feeble as expected against McClanahan. It is what it is. Quote
Motor City Sonics Posted March 30, 2023 Posted March 30, 2023 They're going to reference Miggy's last year more often than NFL broadcasts reference Stafford & Kershaw Quote
roarintiger1 Posted March 30, 2023 Posted March 30, 2023 (edited) and........X-Tiger Randy Grossman just hits a 3-run home run for the Rangers. Edited March 30, 2023 by roarintiger1 Quote
Sports_Freak Posted March 30, 2023 Posted March 30, 2023 Hope we don't play our home opener without at least two wins. Quote
mtutiger Posted March 30, 2023 Posted March 30, 2023 And in other Ex-Tiger news, Gregory Soto didn't get it done in Texas today lol Quote
RandyMarsh Posted March 30, 2023 Posted March 30, 2023 Despite the goose egg there were some positive signs with the offense namely only having 6Ks and drawing 3 walks. That's a step in the right direction I guess. Quote

Getting shutout on Opening Day after all the shutouts last year still sucks tho Quote
Tigermojo Posted March 30, 2023 Posted March 30, 2023 I did notice for the most part they had good approaches swinging at strikes. There was some flailing at times by Schoop, Haase and Baez in certain at bats. Overall they hit and walked as much as the Rays but couldn't cash in like the Rays did. Quote
apabruce Posted March 30, 2023 Posted March 30, 2023 Hard to tell after one game, but this team looking a lot like 2003. The good news is, the 2003 team became the 2006 team. The yougsters need to show some progress, though. Quote

Motor City Sonics Posted March 31, 2023 Posted March 31, 2023 ...........and, because this is all scripted and fake, Aaron Judge hit's the first HR of the MLB season. Quote
Motor City Sonics Posted March 31, 2023 Posted March 31, 2023 Has Hinch given a reason why he didn't challenge that call on first base? Quote
Jim Cowan Posted March 31, 2023 Posted March 31, 2023 McClanahan is pretty good, that match up was not likely to result in a Tigers win. On to the next one. Quote

We are gonna get off to a rough start because of our super-tough early schedule so we should remember that when we start out something like 12-28. Quote

Yes, a .500 record through 40 games does not seem attainable, from looking at the schedule. How many wins would be required for a successful first quarter...17 might be the number. Quote
gehringer_2 Posted March 31, 2023 Posted March 31, 2023 Positive signs. Pitching wasn't terrible - ERod was fine, Foley got the ground balls he was sent in to get but they found holes, Meadows got off the snide early, and Cabrera got around to pull a 93mph fastball down the LF line. McCalanhan too much for them in general, but Schoop, Vierling and Kreidler particularly overmatched. Quote

McClanahan's baseball card suggests he has days like that. Quote
mtutiger Posted March 31, 2023 Posted March 31, 2023 First day of the season for AL Central teams resulted in three shutouts (Tigers, Guardians, Royals)... Pain Quote
