kdog Posted April 1, 2023 Posted April 1, 2023 Winning obviously is irrelevant this year. I just need to see a flicker of hope from a young player lol. My expectations are very low. Quote

kdog Posted April 1, 2023 Posted April 1, 2023 Turnbull deserves some leniency here; First start after TJ surgery. 1 Quote

But, looks like zombie ball again, where season's over by end of April... Quote
gehringer_2 Posted April 1, 2023 Posted April 1, 2023 Before 2021 Turnbull's 'problem' had been that he didn't know where his pitches are going to go. Seems to be back at that point again. Quote
gehringer_2 Posted April 1, 2023 Posted April 1, 2023 (edited) plus Spencer has thrown so many pitchers right on the bottom line of the zone that the Rays adjusted. Edited April 1, 2023 by gehringer_2 Quote

He set a high bar during ST, but the real deal is a bit more amped up. I still think his mates didn't help him any... his second inning should have been stress free, defense made sure it wouldn't be. chasfh Posted April 1, 2023 Posted April 1, 2023 First pitch wild pitch by Wingenter, then gives up a crushed double. Sheesh. What else is on? Quote

Same as last year...defense is ass, offense is more ass, the pitchers dont have a chance, even if/when they pitch well. Hopefully we'll have a prfessional baseball team by 2026. Edited for: and the bullpen will be even extra, EXTRA ASS, this season. Edited April 1, 2023 by Dtrain72 Quote

kdog Posted April 1, 2023 Posted April 1, 2023 I know Chris Ilitch isn't watching. And we already fired the GM who is responsible. So we are the people who have to suffer through another 90 loss season. Quote
mtutiger Posted April 1, 2023 Posted April 1, 2023 Wingenter has great stuff, but boy location with that slider is not great lol Quote
Dtrain72 Posted April 1, 2023 Posted April 1, 2023 (edited) I found it amusing listening to sports radio thursday and a commercial for online betting came on for the days mlb games, and the guy said the best bet was to take the under on the tigers/rays game because the tigers offense is ass and probably wont even score...he then proceeded to say at the end that picking the under in tigers games will be a go to winning bet for the season... Toddwert Posted April 1, 2023 Posted April 1, 2023 on to pitcher 3 for the tigers 8-0 rays in the 3rd still Quote
gehringer_2 Posted April 1, 2023 Posted April 1, 2023 (edited) The difference in hitters that actually know how to hit. Franco looked for a slider, took his time and just served it up the middle instead of swinging out of his shoes and missing the break Edited April 1, 2023 by gehringer_2 Quote
SoCalTiger Posted April 1, 2023 Posted April 1, 2023 Well when we’re cheering our hitters taking more pitches and high exit velocity turns to cheering walk homers and runs then we might have something. Quote

Sports_Freak Posted April 1, 2023 Posted April 1, 2023 Yeah, home opener at 0-6. Gonna be great, so hopeful. Bring in some more AAA players who are about to get released. Great way to save money. Quote

This is kinda where I'm at. Sure, the pitching sucked today. The two guys who haven't pitched in a ML game in forever had issues. But FFS, show a little a life offensively. I almost have a bigger issue with that at this point. Score some runs. Edited April 1, 2023 by mtutiger Quote
gehringer_2 Posted April 1, 2023 Posted April 1, 2023 this is really weird. They appear to cheating time on the audio - compared to the video they are coming back about 15-20 seconds late from the break and then slowly picking up the time over the course of the inning. Quote
