chasfh Posted April 4, 2023 Posted April 4, 2023 Hill gets a save and Wingenter gets the win. Who had that on their bingo card? Quote

gehringer_2 Posted April 4, 2023 Posted April 4, 2023 (edited) I won't dispute Vierling as star #1, but if Englert doesn't go three, there is no way Houston doesn have a handful more runs by 11 innings. Edited April 4, 2023 by gehringer_2 Quote

mtutiger Posted April 4, 2023 Posted April 4, 2023 It's only Game 4, but it feels like a huge win for everyone's psyche Quote

mtutiger Posted April 4, 2023 Posted April 4, 2023 Worth noting that Vierling, purportedly the LHP platoon guy, did it all against RHP tonight. 2 Quote
Jim Cowan Posted April 4, 2023 Posted April 4, 2023 In the land of small sample sizes, Vierling raised his OPS by 916 points, and tied for the team lead in runs, hits, home runs and RBIs. He leads all 3 slash categories at .333/.333/.583. So, I propose that we let him stay for another week before we ship him out to Toledo. Quote
Jim Cowan Posted April 4, 2023 Posted April 4, 2023 Raise your hand if you thought that Garrett Hill would even be on the team after spring training. Quote

When Cabrera takes the night off, some other possibilities open up, like playing Carpenter's bat but not his glove. I'm not complaining, it's been blindingly obvious for 2 years that Cabrera was going to play out the contract, and if he doesn't hurt himself he's going to get 400 PA's this year, so we might as well keep smiling because we can't change it. But the games when he doesn't play will be more interesting. Quote

RandyMarsh Posted April 4, 2023 Posted April 4, 2023 Always a bonus to wake up and find out that not only did we win but we won in large part due to guys who are part of our future like Greene and Vierling. Now we just need Tork to get going. Quote

Tiger337 Posted April 4, 2023 Posted April 4, 2023 Vierling has not hit right handers well so far, but I am in favor of giving more at bats to anyone who shows a pulse on this team. Quote
