oblong
I'm confused about why #1 is about the SC? Is he proposing a specific bill to address that? I don't see that as SC reform though.

Or at least that's my take.

If Congress defines 'official act' in law, then it seems they effectively overrule the Court's discretion on the matter. oblong
but I still don't get why Kyle classified it as SC reform. It's Executive Reform, as in, defining procedures and safeguards for the Executive Branch. It doesn't affect the SC other than address/clarify one of their rulings, but that's not what I would call Reform.

You are correct, but it's in the line of undoing, reversing, or if you like 'reforming' something the SCOTUS did, so I guess some media consultant decided it's close enough to bundle it together if it's all going in one press release..... gehringer_2
Just saw that Biden put his SCOTUS proposals into a guest OP-ED piece in the WaPo. Look for some Pitchbot worthy anti-Biden stuff in the NYT by tomorrow.....🤣

oblong
we are reaching the territory where when we elect our next POTUS we could also be dealing with finding a new Chief Justice. Roberts has that the job almost 20 years now. The longest since.... some guys you have never heard of! He will be 70 next year. And a Chief Justice can be filled by an existing member, so a GOP President could elevate a Gorsuch or Barrett. Still requires Senate confirmation. When Roberts was nominated, he was first picked to fill Sanda Day O'Conner. Then Rehnquist died, so Bush pulled that nomination, picked Roberts again to fill that seat and the chief justice seat. Once that was done, he put in Alito to take Sandra's spot. Think how different the country would be if Rehnquist and Ginsberg had lived a bit longer.

Perhaps none on this list would have happened, except the first one at least.
