Hill still has to go back to Toledo for a different lotto ticket.

The team that comes north to start the season usually has some turnover. There are several Tigers who don't belong in the majors but there's not a lot in the pipeline.

Wentz pitched well

Bullpen blew it...but Englert didn't implode further. Cisnero got some help from his defense.

They gave their offense a puncher's shot in the 11th and Maton knocked one out. I'll take it.

Looking forward to the Cody Stavenhagen feature in the Athletic in August, when he waxes poetic about how the Baez incident was the turning point for the team and their climb into playoff contention.

I'm not so sure--I think Diaz, Castro and Del Pozo would all be upgrades.  Maybe Wisler or Rosenthal if they can get into a groove down there.

I get giving Green more time, but Tork just looks BAD at the plate, especially with runner in scoring position.

he has one walk in 50 AB - he's not playing to the strength of his game. He's done a much better job of staying on FBs in the zone this year but maybe because of all those barrels early, he's lost his patience.

yeah, I feel better about Tork right now, though it's all relative.

Del Pozo looked solid in ST and hasn't shown any regression at Toledo - 0.88 Whip and only one walk in 6 IP.

Who is going to be first to call him Del Bozo when he blows a lead?

This game was clarifying from a bullpen perspective - Cisnero joins Shreve, Lange and Foley off the **** list, Englert is fine but needs to be in a position to be used like he's a Rule 5 pick.

They need to figure out the last two spots currently held by Hill and Wingenter.

Easier said than done, but that's how I see it

I turned it off to cleanse my pallete by clamping jumper cables to my nipples and sucking on a 9 volt battery after SF took the lead.

I hope you are comfortable about doing that during every extra inning game the Tigers play this season. For superstition purposes. Admit it, you kind of enjoyed it, didn’t you.

I would definitely like to see him.

All of my bitching about the clock making the games too quick came back to bite me. We get a 3 hour game they 9 and we left because we are running a race tomorrow morning so numb nuts missed the 11th!

Looks kind of like Cisnero's story. Knocked around the minor for long time without much success but starting doing something better in '21 at age 28 when the Tigers picked him up. His numbers from last yr at Toledo were decent but the Tigers never called him up last year.

Diaz has 9 K’d in 5.2 IP, with a 0.88 WHIP, as well.

Another 'old' guy lke Del Pozo. Diaz has had walk troubles in the past. If we don't see him in one of the first call-ups it's probably because they want more evidence he can keep his free passes in check.

There's been a lot of discussion about how there are no easy series in the first month and a half - but the Giants are probably the weakest of the bunch and I'm not convinced they are that much better than the Tigers.

We kinda saw that at times... if they aren't hitting homers, things generally don't go well for them, they are very one dimensional offensively.

Also, we hired their former GM, so let's hope it's more Farhan than Harris who is at fault lol

Tampa loses 6-3, giving up 2 bases loaded walks and a horrifically botched routine grounder to short.

Good, I don't want them going 35-5.  I love that the Tigers hold that record.
