It doesn’t even feel like it should be August already. But I am very intrigued about this upcoming season. This franchise needs a healthy dose of actual on court optimism. Quote
RandyMarsh Posted August 5, 2023 Posted August 5, 2023 It's nice to hear some positive stuff from guys like Kerr and other outsiders, it's easy to take everything with a grain of salt when it's local beat writers or team insiders but it carries more weight to me when it comes from the outside. 1 Quote
NYLion Posted August 7, 2023 Posted August 7, 2023 Cade looks good and those are no slouches that he's playing against. Regardless, it's just nice to see him out there competing and looking healthy. He's the key to everything. Quote
RandyMarsh Posted August 7, 2023 Posted August 7, 2023 I can't remember where I read it maybe the Athletic(wasn't by JEIII) but I guess Kerr or Grant Hill flat out said that he would be on the main team and the only reason he isn't is because he is working his way back from injury so he's under a bit of a load management at this time. Yeah. Cade was invited but he turned it down so he could concentrate on rehab and getting ready for the season. 1 Quote

gehringer_2 Posted August 7, 2023 Posted August 7, 2023 This is the first time I've been interested in the start of a Pistons season since.....I can't remember. Who knows if they are going to shoot well enough for all the other upside to be in play, but if they do it should be fun. Quote
Shinzaki Posted August 9, 2023 Posted August 9, 2023 I think Duren is set to have a very good year as well...I like the nucleus of Cade, Ivey and Duren....and hopefully Thompson 1 Quote
Deleterious Posted August 15, 2023 Author Posted August 15, 2023 Full schedule is out Thursday at 3PM. This is their 4 play in games. Quote
buddha Posted August 15, 2023 Posted August 15, 2023 i'll be interested to see how this works out. Quote
RandyMarsh Posted August 15, 2023 Posted August 15, 2023 I totally don't understand this whole thing so I may be missing something but why are they doing it in the middle of November like right after the regular season starts? It seems like something you would do later on in the season when people maybe kinda losing interest in the regular season like say late February or so. 1 Quote
Deleterious Posted August 16, 2023 Author Posted August 16, 2023 Rico Hines runs are pretty famous. He holds them at UCLA and it attracts all the NBA guys in LA for the summer, which is essentially the entire league. 1 1 Quote

I don't think this is for the older "traditional" NBA fan. I think its for a younger crowd and/or a soccer crowd. I say soccer because this experiment is a rip off of soccer, is it not? As far as I am concerned, these are regular season games on the schedule. I just wonder which of the 6 different kit sets they'll wear that day. Edited August 16, 2023 by casimir Quote
Deleterious Posted August 18, 2023 Author Posted August 18, 2023 The Pistons will travel just over 35,000 miles. That will be the third lowest amount in the league. Clippers are number one with just over 50,000 miles. They play 6 games where they will have a rest advantage. That is the 2nd lowest in the league, Boston has 16. They play 9 games where they will have a rest disadvantage. Highest is 13 and that is Orlando. They play 15 B2B games, most in the league. But they are tied with like 9 other teams and the lowest is 13 B2B games. All this can be found on this site: https://www.positiveresidual.com/shiny/nba/ Quote
Deleterious Posted August 19, 2023 Author Posted August 19, 2023 He just doesn't have the lateral quickness he needs to get past people. Quote
Deleterious Posted August 22, 2023 Author Posted August 22, 2023 ESPN talking heads picked their award winners for next season. Cade was #1 for most improved. 1 Quote
