slothfacekilla Posted December 27, 2021 Author Posted December 27, 2021 (edited) Edvinsson scored a nice shorthanded breakaway goal against Russia Viro wearing the C for Finland I think, saw he may have had a PP assist yesterday Neither Cossa nor Bednar started for their teams and the teams' other goalies got lit up. Sebrango scored. Mazur laid a big hit at least, I saw Savage dressed too Edited December 27, 2021 by slothfacekilla 1 Quote
slothfacekilla Posted December 27, 2021 Author Posted December 27, 2021 Edvinsson played the most minutes for Sweden and barely saw the power play which is wild. How the F does he pivot so well without even using crossovers?! From head of Elite Prospects: Sebrango goal: Edvinsson given first star despite Owen Power scoring a hat trick: https://thehockeynews.com/news/world-junior-championship-three-stars-from-dec-26?fbclid=IwAR07-UR0zUk5aTC2FPrQ3HsXFuWPfIp1p7qaPiY8cJyZ6MBU9Z5bfM4h8So Cossa still not starting today despite Canada switching goalies 😞 1 Quote

Agreed, I know Seider got time in Grand Rapids but Edvinsson has been thriving in the SHL and I wouldn't be shocked if Yzerman has seen enough at this point. Quote
slothfacekilla Posted December 28, 2021 Author Posted December 28, 2021 Barber, Criscuolo, Renouf, Witkowski and Brattstrom added to the new taxi squad.... I pray we never see Brattstrom play a minute Quote
Shinzaki Posted December 28, 2021 Posted December 28, 2021 Watched most of the 2nd period last night on a stream out of Russia...Edvinsson is so fricking mobile...seeing the highlights is one thing, but to see someone that size actually moving like that within the game it's even more impressive. 1 Quote

Fox Wismic Posted January 2, 2022 Posted January 2, 2022 Moritz Seider’s physicality earns Red Wings’ praise, opponents’ ire - mlive.com Some of Yzerman's recent draft picks were also big, strong, tough defensemen, who can protect the skill players like Larkin and Lucas. That's the one element were were a bit short on during our Cup/Playoff run. That's a necessity in the playoffs, where the referees still favor the physical (even goon) teams. Quote
buddha Posted January 2, 2022 Posted January 2, 2022 they're big and they can actually play. unlike rasmussen and smith and kenny's later years draft picks. Quote

You want to poison your young stars with Evander Kane? I can't imagine how bad the Wings would be if they still had Holland here. We'd have absolutely no hope right now. NO future. Quote
buddha Posted January 12, 2022 Posted January 12, 2022 holland is the main reason we're soooooooooooo far behind in our rebuild. that thread didnt get into their horrible drafts either. go back and look at the post larkin/bert drafts. it will make you cringe. poor tater is going to have a whole nother aneurysm if he reads this.
