Tigermojo
Should have been 5-1 with one out DOH
RandyMarsh
Just now, mtutiger said: Honestly not even sure why they had Haase moving when he got on as well... shouldn't be running into outs against a pitcher who cannot throw strikes I wonder if that was either a missed hit and run or if Haase thought the dropped ball by the catcher rolled farther away from him than it did so he tried advancing on it on his own. Definitely doesn't make sens to send Haase on a straight steal there.
RandyMarsh
Boyd still plagued by the HR ball, some things will never change.
gehringer_2
Typical Boyd, lots of Ks, lots of bombs. He's not going to win many with less than 4 or 5 run support.
Tigermojo
They were talking earlier in the game how Greene had less than 800 AB in the minors and Tork less than 600. The result is they are learning at the highest level.
RandyMarsh
Maton on pace for 30+ HRs yet still only has a .375 slugging. lol I'd imagine if that were to actually hold up it would be far and away the lowest slugging for a 30HR season in history. gehringer_2
they're staying back on the breaking ball because Boyd can't get enough on the FB to put it past them.
tiger2022
Rob Deer 1991, 25 hrs, .386 slg That was only 25 hrs, but yikes. Chris Davis, Khris Davis, Joey Gallo, Dave Kingman, Gorman Thomas were other guys that hit a lot of home runs but had very low .slg. gehringer_2
Good throw from 2nd and Haase is dead meat - he didn't make a good throw so it was the right call! Riley with another ball chopped into the ground - worked in his favor that time.

gehringer_2
Yup -Boyd needs to get out of this himself if Cisnero is warming up. Edited April 25, 2023 by gehringer_2
gehringer_2
Dan is sure Boyd is done. 3 RH bats coming up next -probably right.
gehringer_2
In that AB Tork took a FB down the middle and then swung at pitches on the margins. Sometimes what you take is as big a problem. He was maybe looking off speed, whatever - he missed his best chance that time.

RandyMarsh
Miggy has 30 batted balls on the season and of those 30 balls only one was a barrel. Just awful.

He's usually prett good about swinging at strikes, but the whole team is taking a lot of strikes tonight - maybe taking pitches is the game plan - they did get a lot walks off Rea. mtutiger
7th inning really demonstrates one major difference between 2023 and 22/21... this team is significantly better defensively
RandyMarsh
Tampa wins again to get to 20-3. For those keeping score at home they Gotta go 15-2 in the next 17 to match the 84 Tigers.
