RandyMarsh Posted April 25, 2023 Posted April 25, 2023 Box score scouting around the league tonight and Spencer Strider currently through 8 shutout innings with 13Ks including an absurd 31 swings and misses. Crazy! Quote

gehringer_2 Posted April 25, 2023 Posted April 25, 2023 (edited) That ball hit by Riley is what Scales was talking about the other day. For as much as you get this goof ball mantra from Craig Monroe about 'letting the ball get deep', you aren't going to do max damage that way if you aren't Miguel Cabrera in his prime. Hitting the ball deep with almost a golf swing got him a weak flare to left, he needs to get around further to drive the ball hard to right. All that said, he's still has time enough to figure it out. Edited April 25, 2023 by gehringer_2 Quote
chasfh Posted April 25, 2023 Posted April 25, 2023 Apparently not all of Schoop’s good defense was because of the shift. That was a hell of a play he made. Quote

He's like Jhonny Peralta - always looks like he's moving slow but you look him up at the end of the season and he's made a lot of plays. Still has to hit though. Quote

chasfh Posted April 25, 2023 Posted April 25, 2023 (edited) Glad Baddoo got the walk, but that can’t remain his top offensive weapon and keep his job. Edited April 25, 2023 by chasfh Quote
Tigermojo Posted April 25, 2023 Posted April 25, 2023 Pitchers have figured out up and away is Riley's two strike weakness. Quote
gehringer_2 Posted April 25, 2023 Posted April 25, 2023 Riley eaten up by a 94 mph fastball. He's almost where Torks was last season - behind. Quote
Tigermojo Posted April 25, 2023 Posted April 25, 2023 Bringing out the big bats. Sure would be nice to have two more runs Haase and Greene... Quote
chasfh Posted April 25, 2023 Posted April 25, 2023 I like seeing my right fielder make a good play after communicating with the center fielder, and then seeing them share a laugh and a glove bump after. 1 Quote
chasfh Posted April 25, 2023 Posted April 25, 2023 This is what I always hoped I would see when I was stumping all last year for Lange to be closer. 1 Quote

gehringer_2 Posted April 25, 2023 Posted April 25, 2023 Well, that's about the best game this team can play in this configuration. Quote
