djhutch Posted April 29, 2023 Posted April 29, 2023 Not a huge fan of the Hooker pick... Thought they'd add a DT there Quote

But there also is the off chance that Goff does get injured(no matter how injury proof you have been it's still a violent sport where an injury can happen at anytime) and Hooker steps up and not only prevents the season from coming off the rails but actually leads us to a deep playoff run while looking the part. I think with the amount of picks they had and the few glaring holes they have on the team that type of risk was worth it for them. Again especially considering they were prepared to reportedly give Bridgewater a nice contract to fill that role anyway. Expand Plus to add to this he also can help fill the void of the all important mobile QB role for the defense to face in practice. 🙂 Edited April 29, 2023 by RandyMarsh Quote
Motown Bombers Posted April 29, 2023 Posted April 29, 2023 I would have rather drafted an actual hooker than Hendon Hooker. Quote
MichiganCardinal Posted April 29, 2023 Posted April 29, 2023 Is the #69 available for Hooker's jersey? Asking for a friend. 1 Quote
Sports_Freak Posted April 29, 2023 Posted April 29, 2023 Lmao...Green Bay would never draft any receivers for Rodgers and now they've taken like....20 of them. 🤣🤣 Quote
Motor City Sonics Posted April 29, 2023 Author Posted April 29, 2023 This is the desperate part of the night where Packer fans are shown going crazy over picking a South Dakota State TE in the 3rd round. Quote

Goff is probably more mobile right now. He's not even going to be available for training camp. His contract will likely be half over and he'll be 27 before he is starting. Quote

Like 80 percent never amount to jack crap from there so even having a four year backup out of round 3 isn't a complete loss. Round 1 is a much bigger problem Quote
Hongbit Posted April 29, 2023 Posted April 29, 2023 Nothing has changed with Goff. They weren’t extending now either way. If he plays well next season they will give him $50M a year. Hooker is a cheap insurance policy. Quote

Expand I wasn't the one saying trust Brad Holmes before the draft. I said I trusted him to not draft Hooker and here he goes and drafts Hooker. At least it was a 3rd round pick that he traded back twice. Must have really felt good about it. Quote

Very odd reaction to getting depth at a position where we needed it. If Hooker had stayed healthy, he goes in the first round, maybe to Indy. Great value in the 3rd round, especially where we don’t have any glaring holes elsewhere (and are not done drafting). 1 Quote
AlaskanTigersFan Posted April 29, 2023 Posted April 29, 2023 I like Hendon Hooker pick. A guy that "might" have gone in the 1st round. We can develop him. Save 8 mil a year at least in cap space for Bridgewater as a backup. I'll take that. Quote
