I think with the amount of picks they had and the few glaring holes they have on the team that type of risk was worth it for them. Again especially considering they were prepared to reportedly give Bridgewater a nice contract to fill that role anyway.

He can barely run right now. Goff is probably more mobile right now. He's not even going to be available for training camp. His contract will likely be half over and he'll be 27 before he is starting.

To be fair that matter less in round 3. Like 80 percent never amount to jack crap from there so even having a four year backup out of round 3 isn't a complete loss.

Nothing has changed with Goff.  They weren’t extending now either way.   If he plays well next season they will give him  $50M a year.   Hooker is a cheap insurance policy.

I wasn't the one saying trust Brad Holmes before the draft. I said I trusted him to not draft Hooker and here he goes and drafts Hooker. At least it was a 3rd round pick that he traded back twice. Must have really felt good about it.

We do.  Very odd reaction to getting depth at a position where we needed it.  If Hooker had stayed healthy, he goes in the first round, maybe to Indy.  Great value in the 3rd round, especially where we don’t have any glaring holes elsewhere (and are not done drafting).

I like Hendon Hooker pick. A guy that "might" have gone in the 1st round. We can develop him. Save 8 mil a year at least in cap space for Bridgewater as a backup. I'll take that.

They needed depth at more positions than QB and Hooker isn't even going to be on the roster. There's a good chance he starts the season on the IR.
