Motown Bombers Posted April 28, 2023 Posted April 28, 2023 Watching the highlights of LaPorta, he kind of looks like Ebron except he hangs on to the ball. Quote

MichiganCardinal Posted April 28, 2023 Posted April 28, 2023 I wonder if Branch is this year's Nakobe Dean. He's hanging around after having mock projections in the teens. Quote
buddha Posted April 28, 2023 Posted April 28, 2023 when you have a chance to grab a key piece from thelat 2022 powerhouse iowa offense, you just have to do it. Quote
Motown Bombers Posted April 28, 2023 Posted April 28, 2023 I still wouldn't be opposed to drafting an X receiver if one is available. Go all in on the offense. Quote

I can see why this would give people Hock flashbacks but I think LaPorta is more dynamic. Of course it was hard to tell because Iowa didn't have a QB worth a damn but he looks the part. RandyMarsh Posted April 28, 2023 Posted April 28, 2023 I think there's still a few solid DBs left before you hit another drop off so I think it would be wise for Brad to snag one of them with this next pick and not risk waiting or else you may end up with one that is a tier or 2 lower. 1 Quote

"He is in the Austin Hooper mold and projects as a low-end TE1 or high-end TE2 on an NFL depth chart." And evading the question. Who do you see as our TE1? Edited April 28, 2023 by Sports_Freak Quote
Tenacious D Posted April 28, 2023 Posted April 28, 2023 So, Stafford for Goff, Jamo, Gibbs and LaPorta? Quote

Motown Bombers Posted April 28, 2023 Posted April 28, 2023 They're building this offense to Goff's strength. Imagine the play action passes with Gibbs in the backfield and St Brown, LaPorta and/or Williams running crosses all over the field. Quote
RandyMarsh Posted April 28, 2023 Posted April 28, 2023 LaPorta scouting report and stats show that he is really good at breaking tackles, I don't remember if Hock was like that in college too but I always felt that was something he was lacking with the Lions atleast from my vantage point. It just seemed to me that as soon as a guy put a hand on him he was going down, rarely did it seem like he would break tackles for more YAC. One of his last or maybe his last game here where he had that real monster game was one of the few times we ever seen it. Hopefully LaPorta can make plays like Hock did in that game more consistently. Quote
Motor City Sonics Posted April 28, 2023 Author Posted April 28, 2023 Who do you want with the next pick? Keeanu? Ringo? Hooker? Quote

When the goal is to make it ten yards in 3-4 tries, a single missed tackle can be the difference between 0 and 3 points, or 3 and 7. Quote
Motor City Sonics Posted April 29, 2023 Author Posted April 29, 2023 I didn't think they needed a TE. The three-headed post-hock group was really good. They all had huge plays. Quote
