chasfh Posted May 6, 2023 Posted May 6, 2023 That was a great job by Englert after the walk. Left it all out there probably. 1 Quote

gehringer_2 Posted May 6, 2023 Posted May 6, 2023 boys need to score a few and put this out of reach. yeah ...that'll be happening... Quote
Jim Cowan Posted May 6, 2023 Posted May 6, 2023 This has the feel of a game that the players will win in spite of the manager's efforts. Quote
chasfh Posted May 6, 2023 Posted May 6, 2023 Looks like Lange is coming in for a third straight game. Probably not ideal, but Englert couldn’t get a quick out and start the ninth. Could really use some cushion runs here. Quote

chasfh Posted May 6, 2023 Posted May 6, 2023 (edited) I get what Hinch was trying to do here. He had to get Cisnero and Englert into the game. Neither of them had pitched for six days. They have to get into a game at some point. Sure, it would be nice if we could wait until we’re blowing the other team the **** out before we have to burn those guys, but you don’t always get that perfect scenario, and you can’t have them never pitching in another close game ever again. Jim Cowan Posted May 6, 2023 Posted May 6, 2023 The lineup management for the whole game has been too cute. Quote
chasfh Posted May 6, 2023 Posted May 6, 2023 (edited) I’m now wondering whether they might have Vest start the ninth until he gives up a runner, then it has to be Lange. EDIT: On second thought, maybe Vest is warming up in case we get runs. Edited May 6, 2023 by chasfh Quote
gehringer_2 Posted May 6, 2023 Posted May 6, 2023 good AB by Torkelson - a hit would have been gooder though. Quote
Tigermojo Posted May 6, 2023 Posted May 6, 2023 Just have to get out their best hitters. Hang on everyone. Quote

gehringer_2 Posted May 6, 2023 Posted May 6, 2023 Haase a little too anxious in the last couple of AB. Ump doesn't give Lange the 1st perfect pitch. Quote
Dtrain72 Posted May 6, 2023 Posted May 6, 2023 That first Lange pitch was a strike. Robot umps. Quote
