RandyMarsh Posted May 8, 2023 Posted May 8, 2023 I love not having an off day on Monday, especially coming off a loss. 1 Quote
mtutiger Posted May 8, 2023 Posted May 8, 2023 Not the reason they lost by any means yesterday, but it was another lineup with Cabrera and Schoop batting back 2 back... painful stuff Setting aside Miggy, who is untouchable so long as he wants to play, how much more leash is Schoop gonna get? He's really hard to watch at the plate right now 1 Quote

He's really hard to watch at the plate right now Yeah, Schoop is cooked. He should basically be relegated to ninth-inning defensive replacement and garbage-time pinch-hitter at this point. Sure, he’s going to have to start some games some time, and actually yesterday would have been as good a time as any (getaway game against a flailing team), but he probably shouldn’t start more than once a week. bobrob2004 Posted May 8, 2023 Posted May 8, 2023 (edited) Niko Goodrum Nick Gordon is hitting .143/.155/.300 with more playing time than Schoop. So I guess it could be worse. Edit: Read his name too fast, it's actually Nick Gordon. Aaron Hicks, Jean Segura and Cavan Biggio are also having terrible starts this year. Edited May 8, 2023 by bobrob2004 Quote
RandyMarsh Posted May 8, 2023 Posted May 8, 2023 I mentioned it before but Schoop had that one Ruthian month in 2021 that he parlayed into an extension but other than that he has been trash at the plate for atleast the last 2 and a half seasons so it's not like this is just a poor start for him. Sports_Freak Posted May 8, 2023 Posted May 8, 2023 Tigers don't lose many 1 games in a row. A loss usually snowballs into more losses. Let's break that pattern. Quote
kdog Posted May 8, 2023 Posted May 8, 2023 Tigers are #1 in the AL in defensive runs saved and #2 in outs above average. 3 Quote

Fat Bastard Posted May 8, 2023 Posted May 8, 2023 Come on Tigers! If we legit want to challenge for the AL central, starts with this series., winning on the road against our rivals. Quote
Crazy Cat Gentleman Posted May 8, 2023 Posted May 8, 2023 gotta say, that was a pretty sick play by Giménez. 1 Quote
Tigermojo Posted May 8, 2023 Posted May 8, 2023 Limited the damage to one run after a leadoff double and single. Quote
Dave Christian Posted May 8, 2023 Posted May 8, 2023 My old deer camp buddy, Adam Hamari, is umpiring second base. I've seen him more this season than I have in at least three years. Quote

Crazy Cat Gentleman Posted May 8, 2023 Posted May 8, 2023 (edited) no fair tagging him in the throwing the ball at his 'nads. Edited May 8, 2023 by Crazy Cat Gentleman Quote
Dtrain72 Posted May 8, 2023 Posted May 8, 2023 The bunyan's telling me we're due for a 5-6 game losing streak. Quote
Fat Bastard Posted May 8, 2023 Posted May 8, 2023 Never seen someone get hit in the gnads from home plate before. 1 Quote
Tigermojo Posted May 8, 2023 Posted May 8, 2023 The ball actually hit Baddoo and bounced into his glove. I'm not sure he even tagged him before his foot hit the bag but there's only seconds to challenge. Quote
