Motown Bombers
Seems based on what we know of the Packers schedule, looks like Vikings at home to finish the season. This will be good for the Vikings. They could be fighting for the final playoff spot and the Lions will be resting their starters since they have the division locked up. Mr.TaterSalad
If we go in and beat the Chiefs at Arrowhead I think that this fanbase is going to be turned up to a level that it's almost never been at before. That would be one hell of a way to open up the season and would make the first home game and Ford Field be as loud as its ever been.
Motown Bombers
That Chiefs opener is going to be fascinating. If the Lions win, the hype will be through the roof. If they lose, Detroit area hospitals will start bracing for a flood of ankle injuries after fans jump off the bandwagon.
RandyMarsh
Definitely throwing our new secondary into the deep end by playing KC the first game. As mentioned though it is usually best to get the good teams in week 1 cause the first week has shown to be even more volatile than a normal NFL game. Plus with the Chiefs getting their rings and essentially recelebrating their championship they may come out a little slow.

MichiganCardinal
Three Thursday games is really annoying, but at least one of them is the opener and another is early too. Hard to get guys healthy on a short week.
MichiganCardinal
POD didn't cite their sources but are reporting that the games against the Vikings will come in weeks 16 (away) and 18 (home). Could be some late season drama if both teams perform to ability.

KnoxP
Jumping in! I’m hoping that a new D (secondary and a new LB) will have a game plan advantage over what’s known about KC offense.
MichiganCardinal
If there was any doubt remaining, it's gone now. This is huge for this franchise and city.
MichiganCardinal
I agree that it is best to play your toughest opponents early, when it is more of a crapshoot. Neither a win nor a loss will mean a whole lot in the grand scheme of the season, though I'm sure overreactions will be abound either way. It will also be helpful to get the long rest into week two, which will presumably be at home.

TP_Fan
I’m still expecting them to get a home MNF game. Both prime time games are on the road (excluding thanksgiving of course).

I'd be pretty salty if they made us play three road primetime games and didn't give us anything at home to show for it outside of Thanksgiving. TP_Fan
I just keep thinking things are due. Lions are due for a season opener win. Chiefs are due for a season opening loss and the lions are just due, in general. Lions will beat the chiefs week 1.
RandyMarsh
Its nice to know the Lions will be playing in the first game of the NFL season and of course playing and winning the last game of the NFL season.
MichiganCardinal
A TNF Throwback game! Should be a classic 9-3 final.

The Lions are supposed to play the Packers week 5 on TNF as well so that would mean two TNF games. Did it change where there are multiple TNF games now?
