Dtrain72
If you're Harris, do actually want Harvy and his ass anchor contract on this team? There's no way Harris actually wants Harvy here...

RandyMarsh
Ugh Tigers lead them loaded as McKinstrey strikes out after UMP calls strike on a borderline call that would've walked in a run. It was close but still that one call was a huge turn of events, instead of being 4-2 with bases loaded and our best hitter coming up its inning over down 4-1. RandyMarsh
On a side note how is Salvador Perez only 33 years old(just turned that 2 weeks ago)? He's less than 2 years older than Aaron Judge who seems like and plays like a guy right in the middle of his prime where as Perez despite still being really good feels like a guy that has been around forever who is on the tail end of his career. Never a good sign for the longevity of a ball player.

I guess that's part of the rebuild process. We already know why one boat anchor in particular is still playing. Owner fiat. The best we can hope for is 60-day IL, which seems unlikely unless he becomes literally debilitated.

Because Chapman is left-handed, and if there’s one remaining thing Schoop can do, it’s hit left-handers. He’s actually better against southpaws than Haase is. In any event, we can’t simply never play Schoop ever again as long as he’s on the roster.
RandyMarsh
Speaking of Chapman, he must have found the fountain of youth cause last year when I watched him he was "only" topping out at 97 and occasionally 98 but yesterday he was hitting 103 on the TV gun like he used to in his prime. Just a recent example that no one escapes streakiness: Last season, from June 24 through July 3, Aaron Judge had a ten-game period in which he went 4-for-34 with 11 strikeouts and a .118/.231/.324 slash. This was in the middle of one of the 25 greatest-hitting seasons of all time.

This was in the middle of one of the 25 greatest-hitting seasons of all time. Still, there are hitters that are more consistent month by month than others. I guess I'd pick Bryce Harper as an example of a guy who had an almost year to year streak thing going for a number of years. Temporal preformance variance is going to distribute across the population of players just like any other variable.

This was the rationale: we need a 3 run home run, and Haase is the only guy on the bench who can do it. Send the other 2 guys up first and hope that they get on base. If he gets on, then send Haase up to hit the grand slam, or maybe 3-run double. Either way, Haase still struck out to end the game.
