somebody must have the boat warmed up and the bait on board for Mulchinski after the game. He's clearly in a hurry to get outta Dodge.

I've got FOUR pitches vs. the Tigers that weren't even close, but called strikes.    A few vs. Sox hitters too.

Well, with Joe West retired and Angel Hernandez not working, someone needed to take their place.

Always envied teams that worked a lot of walks. Nice to see this approach.

That seems to be one of Harris's big themes and he did get rid of most of the players that can't walk.  Still only average for the season, but they were LAST in 2022.  On the pitching side, they have allowed the second fewest walks in MLB.

Average is OK. I don't think you want to have your offense be too dependent on the other side's pitchers missing because there will be a lot of days when they don't and you have to have ways to be in those games too.

So, we’re controlling the strike zone on both sides?  This has to be the biggest reason for our improvement this season.

We haven’t had a legit, high OBP lead off hitter in a longtime.

BADDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Love it.  He’s having a pretty good season.  Striking out less, walking more, hitting the ball harder.  He’s still only 24 years old, so there’s still room to grow in all aspects.

There will also be days when you don't get a lot of hits.  In fact, it's easier for players to consistently get walks than to get hits.  Average is OK, but above average is better.  Above average contact is also good.

Still can't hit lefties, but the Tigers like to platoon so they can carry a hitter like that more easily than they could in the past.
