RandyMarsh Posted May 31, 2023 Posted May 31, 2023 Of course Short lays down the perfect bunt and of course he hustles down the line and beats the throw as well! #playsgamerightway #grit #hustle Quote
RandyMarsh Posted May 31, 2023 Posted May 31, 2023 Marisnick comes through with a clutch RBI single in his first game as a Tiger! 3-1 Tigers! Quote
Jim Cowan Posted May 31, 2023 Posted May 31, 2023 1 out, a lefty coming in for McKinstry and Baddoo. Quote
Dtrain72 Posted May 31, 2023 Posted May 31, 2023 Haase smh...imo his future as a Tiger under Harris is dubious if he doesnt start hitting. Quote
Jim Cowan Posted May 31, 2023 Posted May 31, 2023 (edited) Seager runs himself out at second, McKinstry with the throw from right field. Shreve is lobbing them in there at 82 mph Edited May 31, 2023 by Jim Cowan Quote
Tigerbomb13 Posted May 31, 2023 Posted May 31, 2023 The Rally House jingle had to be created by AI. No humans could have made that. 1 Quote
Jim Cowan Posted May 31, 2023 Posted May 31, 2023 Nevin and Marisnick with 2 hits each, an unexpected bonus. Quote
LongLiveMaroth Posted May 31, 2023 Posted May 31, 2023 Lange made it interesting but Tigers Win 3-2 Quote
gehringer_2 Posted May 31, 2023 Posted May 31, 2023 had to get the obligatory tying run into scoring position 1st, but otherwise - no problemo! Quote
Jim Cowan Posted May 31, 2023 Posted May 31, 2023 Winning 1 game of this series seems like it will be sat8sfactory. Quote
RatkoVarda Posted May 31, 2023 Posted May 31, 2023 Vest-Foley-Lange are pretty darn good. I had tomorrow starred as big transaction day, but injuries have changed that and Ibanez and Schoop may be spared for now Twins play Astros tonight and if they lose, Tigers and Twins will be tied in loss column (again) Rangers must feel pretty stupid offering big money FA contracts the last 2 winters only to find themselves in ...1st place. lordstanley Posted May 31, 2023 Posted May 31, 2023 (edited) Even though it had only been two losses, with the big E-Rod and Greene injury news the past few days this felt like a stop-the-bleeding win. Edited May 31, 2023 by lordstanley Quote

Indeed! A good win for the team. It will not be easy, as roster was stretched/reaching before, but IF they can play 'close' to .500 this next month+, there could be some semblance of interest/hope for much of the remainder. There are going to be injuries for ALL teams. Opportunities for some younger players here and we may pick up another vet or two. With said some should be coming back as well from the IL - dare I say it - it is always more fun to have hope in July+... 🫢 🙂 Quote
SoCalTiger Posted May 31, 2023 Posted May 31, 2023 Big win and character builder today. Marisnick was a good hustle pick up by Harris. Mckinstry with the play of the game. Quote
Tenacious D Posted May 31, 2023 Posted May 31, 2023 Cherish this one, boys. I’m not very bullish with Nevin, Ibanez, Miggy, Schoop and Marisnick comprising a big chunk of our position players. And I’m being generous to Maton and Rogers by not lumping them in. No Bueno Quote
Jim Cowan Posted May 31, 2023 Posted May 31, 2023 McKinstry is a good baseball player. He played that carom perfectly and then threw a seed into second base. He looks comfortable at third and at second base too. In other words all the things that Willi and Harold could not do. I'd like to see him start at second every day. Quote
chasfh Posted May 31, 2023 Posted May 31, 2023 (edited) Jake Marisnick is the third of the four “think” players named in this post as being the level of player we can pick up and try that we have actually picked up and tried. Keep your eyes peeled for Johan Camargo. Edited May 31, 2023 by chasfh Quote

Also, if Parker gets called up, would that help? Again, I’m in no position to understand the challenges he’s facing, but he is still out there. He is completely off my radar. I will be honestly surprised if he comes back to baseball and produces positive results for the Tigers. Quote
Jim Cowan Posted May 31, 2023 Posted May 31, 2023 I don't think you'll see either Meadows in Detroit for the rest of this year. Quote

Maybe a good sign? Quote
