Betrayer Posted June 16, 2023 Posted June 16, 2023 Should've been more. Lied right to the Commissioner's face a few weeks before doing the exact same thing again. Weak decision made in the interest of ratings. Can't have your biggest stars miss too many games. Quote
buddha Posted June 16, 2023 Posted June 16, 2023 stern would have axed him for the whole season. one did not **** with david stern's money. 1 Quote
Betrayer Posted June 17, 2023 Posted June 17, 2023 Looks like Miami and now Phoenix are the front runners for Beal according to Shams. I have no idea what they could be offering outside of Ayton or how that trade makes sense for either team. Quote
Deleterious Posted June 17, 2023 Author Posted June 17, 2023 Ayton has a no trade clause until September. So if he isn't happy with his destination he could hold it up. 1 Quote
Deleterious Posted June 18, 2023 Author Posted June 18, 2023 Guess the NTC won't matter. Suns Would Have To Keep Deandre Ayton, Trade Chris Paul For Bradley Beal To Waive NTC Quote
Betrayer Posted June 18, 2023 Posted June 18, 2023 Wow. They got a hot pile of garbage because of that no trade clause. Beal got to choose where to go and they had to make it happen. Oh well, I was already rooting against the Suns because of KD, so making a “super team” with stars choosing trade destinations only reinforces that for me. Quote
buddha Posted June 19, 2023 Posted June 19, 2023 there was no reason to give him a max deal AND a no trade clause. wiz again do it to themselves. 1 Quote
RandyMarsh Posted June 19, 2023 Posted June 19, 2023 (edited) The NTC certainly didn't help things but I'm not so sure it made a major difference. Reason being is you would assume if you were going to trade for a guy that is demanding a trade and makes the amount of money Beal does you want to be certain that he is motivated and wants to play for you before you finalize it anyway. Also I just think any of the teams that would realistically want to trade for a 30 year old on a major contract would be a contender and a place Beal would've accepted to play at anyway. The real killer was his contract and the fact that teams that would be interested didn't have a ton of real assets to give back without breaking up their current core. Deleterious Posted June 19, 2023 Author Posted June 19, 2023 I read that next years combined salary of just Durant, Booker, Beal, and Ayton will put them over the luxury tax. That bench is going to be very thin. 1 Quote
Deleterious Posted June 19, 2023 Author Posted June 19, 2023 All for it if it keeps that POS away from our organization. Quote
RandyMarsh Posted June 19, 2023 Posted June 19, 2023 The Suns just become more unlikable for me every day! 1 Quote
Deleterious Posted June 20, 2023 Author Posted June 20, 2023 Oh Zion. She started posting this stuff after a wire transfer he promised her never posted. Quote
Betrayer Posted June 20, 2023 Posted June 20, 2023 She's been posting so much stuff non-stop. It's been going on for weeks now since he posted something about a kid he has with another girl. Everything from talking about 100K allowances to spitting in her mouth. Quote
casimir Posted June 20, 2023 Posted June 20, 2023 He's unavailable to fill the stat sheet on the court. But damn if he doesn't make up for it off of court. Quote
Deleterious Posted June 20, 2023 Author Posted June 20, 2023 Pelican fans should be excited. This will be the most tape of Zion they have seen in months. 2 Quote

Deleterious Posted June 20, 2023 Author Posted June 20, 2023 So much smoke about a Zion trade. Quite a few people feel it will be done this week. Quote
NYLion Posted June 20, 2023 Posted June 20, 2023 I don't think there's ever been a more polarizing player in terms of trade value. You're either getting a complete disaster of a player that can't ever get on the court due to injury, being out of shape etc. (the baby mama drama is so inconsequential, who cares in terms of basketball?) or you're getting a guy that could be a perennial top 5-10 player in the NBA if he stays healthy. It's probably worth a shot for a franchise that has a hard time attracting star players and is in desperate need of getting off the treadmill and Charlotte/Portland would fit that bill. If I was Charlotte, I would just draft Scoot. Quote
Shinzaki Posted June 20, 2023 Posted June 20, 2023 Given Zion's injury history and apparent lack of motivation to actually work and get in shape...a GM would have to be insane to trade for him. Quote
Betrayer Posted June 20, 2023 Posted June 20, 2023 If I was Charlotte, I'd probably just draft Scoot. On the other hand, if you're Portland and Scoot falls to you, you pretty much have to make the deal for Zion. They've put all their eggs in the Dame basket and this is the most realistic shot they have at getting a superstar next to him. Huge risk that he doesn't play, but if you're not going to do the right thing and blow it up, then you have no choice. The other option is they do a last second 180 if Scoot falls and decide to move Dame while they can still get a haul for him, which would be the right move. Quote
