mtutiger
The Detroit Tigers v. Zach Gallen. Good for my fantasy team, bad for the Detroit Tigers lol
Toddwert
Well this game should be over early enough to watch better games
Dtrain72
This is THE game where Javy explodes and puts the team on his back for a 7 game winning streak! Ooops, I mean this the game where Harvy explodes and....well, he just explodes
kdog
Will Vest is opening with Wentz pitching afterwards.

Dtrain72
Doesnt really matter who's pitching when the offense scores less than a dirty toilet
chasfh
I don’t think Wentz is better than Vest so I’m OK with Vest opening.
Dtrain72
It's an offensive Javy explosion!
LongLiveMaroth
Maton with the 2 out ground rule double. 1-0 Tigers. Would have been 2-0 if the ball didn't bounce into the stands.
Sports_Freak
A run? Is this even legal?
Tigermojo
Wow they got a hit before the fifth inning. Wow they scored a run in the first inning.
chasfh
Dan Dickerson called that a two-run double before walking it back as a one-run ground rule double. It seems to me like he’s botching more calls like that, although maybe you guys think he’s botching it just as much or even less. It’s just my impression is all. chasfh
Maybe Hinch should’ve kept Vest on the chess board. 😝

One thing I've noticed lately is Dickerson talking more about things like veteran leadership and clubhouse presence. I wonder if he has been told to tone down the stats and talk about old school stuff more. Or maybe some of his partners don't respond well to stats, so he tries to get them engaged in other ways. If that is the case, it backfired with Andy Dirks a couple of weeks ago when Dickerson talked about the importance of shut down innings and Dirks told him that innings after the team took the lead were no different than other innings. You always want to keep the opponent scoreless. Edited June 11, 2023 by Tiger337
SoCalTiger
I thought Dirks was solid. He did not sugar coat like all the rest. For example he said clearly that Wentz fastball and off speed was essentially the same speed and not good enough to pitch in the middle of the plate. Bingo. If Wentz can’t paint corners he’s fodder. chasfh
I also believe Dirks is a solid second banana. He is at least as honest an assessor of what he sees on the field as Jim Price is, and I value that in analyst.

Yeah, Dirks is probably my favorite Tigers analyst now.

The last couple of years he’s been all in on “cut of jib” index and all that stuff. He may have gotten the same notes. Who knows, maybe it’s all coming from the same source.
