Hongbit Posted August 1, 2023 Posted August 1, 2023 Hoping now for a Dylan Cease trade to the NL. That should account for 2 extra Tigers wins next year. 1 Quote

A dumb team, that makes bad decisions and can't get on base will be a team that takes a smarter approach at the plate and can get on base. Quote
Mr.TaterSalad Posted August 1, 2023 Posted August 1, 2023 Is it wishful thinking on my part to think we could have gotten the Phillies to part with their star prospect OF Justin Crawford? Quote

Tenacious D Posted August 1, 2023 Posted August 1, 2023 nice to see that Chris Ilitch doesn't have an axe to grind with Dombrowski. Quote

casimir Posted August 1, 2023 Posted August 1, 2023 Had the Phillies been linked to Lorenzen or any pitchers? It seems like they kind'of came out'of nowhere to make a trade. Quote

CJ Nitkowski just made an interesting point. Lorenzen is at 106 IP, which is his highmark since his rookie season in 2015 (115 IP). So, that might interesting to watch going forward. Quote

You can believe the words from a Baseball GM's mouth before the trade deadline about the same that you can believe the words from a Football GM's mouth before the draft. Quote

casimir Posted August 1, 2023 Posted August 1, 2023 So, Rodriguez is the best arm on the block now? And the Orioles and the Dodgers are still kicking around for SP? That's good, yes? Quote
Mr.TaterSalad Posted August 1, 2023 Posted August 1, 2023 Is anyone at all worried that Dombrowski has a history of hyping up his prospects as better than they actually are and bilking other GMs to take them? Quote
KL2 Posted August 1, 2023 Posted August 1, 2023 Jon Morosi @jonmorosi · 49s Eduardo Rodríguez and Jack Flaherty have strong markets, with a little more than 2 hours left to the deadline. Dodgers, Braves, Reds, Orioles, Marlins, DBacks all looking at rotation upgrades. Quote
