Foley only throws 12. He and Lange should both be OK for tomorrow. But it looks like Hinch is going to use Holton. I suppose the could activate Brieske for tomorrow as well. Unrealistical to expect more than 5 from Manning tomorrow.

Horrific pitching injuries aside, 14 strikeouts against the run-scoringest team in baseball, which also strikes out below league average, is pretty darn good.

EDIT: what am I talking about, I mean 16 strikeouts.

Seager missed 5 weeks but other than that he has been a video game this year.  Keeping him off the bases is a key to success.

I didn't think there was even a chance to win this game as Boyd left the mound, injured. But....baseball.

small piece of luck for the Tigers - since Toledo has a couple of days off, they can fly a guy down but wait 'til tomorrow to decide if they need to call him up. Boyd didn't look hopeful but Vest might be something that's fine tomorrow.

If Boyd is out, well be down to 3 starting pitchers. 4 with Manning. Hurry up Skubal and Rodriguez. And we can keep Olson up and send Wentz down to keep him sharp.

Chafin is on the way to having a terrific year, his best, but he's 33.  Getting Holton, sort of in exchange in a weird sort of way, was an outcome that takes away a lot of the disappointment about not getting Chafin back.

I've decided to allow Olson to stay, he's done some good things.
