What an embarassment. It's almost pointless to complain about Chris McCosky because he can't be saved, but his unabashed man-love of the players is not only unprofessional and antithetical to actual journalism, it's also creepy in a weird, stalky kind of way. My time at fantasy camps has taught me that players generally like anybody who is fawning and fanboyish with them, so he's probably well-accepted by most, but I wouldn't be surprised to learn that he genuinely creeps at least some of them out. oblong
There's a scene in Almost Famous where after spending some time on the road with Stillwater, William Miller, the 15 year old journalist, greets the crew and everybody via nicknames and all of that. Just like he's one of the boys. I wonder if McCosky does that in the locker room. "What up Greenie! Mizer, how's the elbow? JR! I'm so jealous of your porn stache. I've been trying grow mine for 40 years"

I wish every ex-Tiger the best. But I mostly don't care about their outcomes.... and would expect that people paid to cover the Detroit Tigers spend their time covering the actual Detroit Tigers. theroundsquare
Somehow (until right now) we haven't seen this about Spencer Turnbull. Is it because he's not an old "friend"? Edit: I guess not sub-replacement? Edited May 6 by theroundsquare
