There are a lot of cross-relationships between the Tigers and Cubs. Former Tigers Jeimer Candelario and Michael Fulmer with the Cubs. Javier Báez, of course, helped the Cubs win a World Series. Alex Lange and Zack Short grew up in the Cubs system. Also, former Tigers first baseman Jim Adduci is a hitting coach and advance game-planner for the Cubs.

Makes sense the Duece would be the game planner for Chicago.

Yes, he is predictably profitting from MLBs partnership with gambling organizations and what better city is there for that than Chicago?

Carpenter has 19 HR in 82 games. He has 220 fewer PA than Torkelson.

Interestingly enough, Torkelson has hit 20 in *his* last 82 games.

(Spencer's AB early this season were forgettable.)

But nice to be throwing around positive data for a change!

"Advance Game Planner" lol Adduci just talks teams into creating jobs for him, the drunken father of his would be proud.

They are not really jobs, just titles.  He gets paid and they get to use his name.  Being associated with Adduci has value to them.

I could see Adduci in a role like Costanza had for the Yankees on Seinfeld, particularly the one episode where George had to take reps from the Astros out and "show them a good time". Deuce's role probably includes giving players all the right intel where they can find the hottest spots to hit after the games and how to handle the police if they were to get caught in a tough situation.

Don't think I've ever seen that. Strike out overrides hit batter I guess.

The one I remember best is Rusty Staub in the early 80's. He took a big swing and the ball hit him right in the knee. If I recall correctly,  he argued the strike so much he was thrown out of the game.
