Torkelson leads the majors in scoops by a lot:

https://www.fangraphs.com/leaders/major-league?pos=all&stats=fld&lg=all&qual=y&type=0&month=0&ind=0&team=0&rost=0&age=0&filter=&players=0&startdate=&enddate=&season1=2023&season=2023&sortcol=15&sortdir=desc&pagenum=1

What this doesn't show is exactly how many opportunities he had to make scoops but failed, although I assume those would show up as errors much of the time.

What it probably does show is that he had a lot of opportunities and was successful many times.

There is a stat that keeps track of "Scoops" made by the first baseman and Tork has the most.  I guess it could mean that since he apparently deals with the most bad throws it makes sense that he would have so many misses.   All I know is that he's second from last in fielding percentage for first basemen.

A missed scoop would typically go down as an error on the person who threw it.

FP% makes a little more sense at 1B than other positions (where it's not very useful), but there is not much variation in FP% for first basemen.  They all are between 99.1% and 99.9%.

I haven't been paying attention apparently, had no idea we were being no hit.

I don’t know, the Tork hate is a little over the top imo. He’s improving every phase of his game, but I guess patience is in short supply. To each their own I suppose.

Nobody hates Tork. We want him to do well. Just saying what we see as fans.
