slothfacekilla Posted October 27, 2021 Posted October 27, 2021 So I'm guessing we're going to get motivated Mantha.... Quote
1984Echoes Posted October 27, 2021 Posted October 27, 2021 Maybe for about two minutes out of the 14 that he'll be on the ice... Quote
slothfacekilla Posted October 27, 2021 Author Posted October 27, 2021 1-0 Caps after 1, Ovechkin scored on a power play Quote
slothfacekilla Posted October 28, 2021 Author Posted October 28, 2021 Caps score another quick power play goal in the second, then Blashill's new scapegoat Hronek makes a nice pinch in to set up an Erne goal. 2-1 bad guys Quote
lordstanley Posted October 28, 2021 Posted October 28, 2021 Wings get a point! Big save by Greiss with about 3 minutes to go. Quote
Motor City Sonics Posted October 28, 2021 Posted October 28, 2021 Wings at least get a point tonight. They played very well. Quote
lordstanley Posted October 28, 2021 Posted October 28, 2021 Nick Jensen seems to have established himself in Caps lineup. Was a +9 going into tonight. Quote
lordstanley Posted October 28, 2021 Posted October 28, 2021 (edited) Raymond to Larkin to the Win column! Edited October 28, 2021 by lordstanley Quote
slothfacekilla Posted October 28, 2021 Author Posted October 28, 2021 Larkin buries it in OT, from Raymond! Seider was the third on the ice, love to see the youth! Quote
Motor City Sonics Posted October 28, 2021 Posted October 28, 2021 They deserved that one. Even strength they outplayed 'em tonight. Quote
lordstanley Posted October 28, 2021 Posted October 28, 2021 One stinker, against the Habs, but otherwise a competitive start to the season. I feel better about 4-2-1 after three road games than I did after 2-1-1. Quote
lordstanley Posted October 28, 2021 Posted October 28, 2021 Blackhawks lead for the first time all season ...2-1 over the Leafs in the 3rd, hee hee. Quote

Waiting for Seider to get a little more aggressive with his shot on the PP. What is it that Hinch says about guys? Slow heart rate? Seider never seems to look rattled. Quote
gehringer_2 Posted October 28, 2021 Posted October 28, 2021 Wings got their 9th point in their 16th game last season. In their 7th this season. Quote
gehringer_2 Posted October 28, 2021 Posted October 28, 2021 (edited) watching the replay of the OT, maybe 15 seconds before goal, Larkin and Seider are along the right side boards in the Caps end and the puck is getting away, Seider - going south, bats the knee high puck out of the air back north over to Larkin, who gains possession and reverses the puck back to center ice which sets up the scoring rush. Just a tiny play, but an example of great vision, reflex, touch, and split second decision making. Edited October 28, 2021 by gehringer_2 Quote
buddha Posted October 28, 2021 Posted October 28, 2021 and mantha floating through the game as usual loses hronek on the first goal, allowing him to get behind him and set up erne. Quote
Shinzaki Posted October 28, 2021 Posted October 28, 2021 There were some questions about Raymond's top end speed during his draft year...looked pretty fast to me on that rush in OT Quote

Raymond maybe not so much with the straight line speed of an Athanasiou, but he has some quickness to go with what speed he has to where he had been able to elude defenders. Quote
slothfacekilla Posted October 28, 2021 Author Posted October 28, 2021 Raymond seems to be able to use his edgework and decision making to make up for his lack of elite straight line speed. As soon as he saw that he had a step on the Cap based on his pivot Raymond started booking it up the ice it was beautiful to see. He also saved a goal with a backcheck earlier in the game, I honestly love what I'm seeing from him all around. 1 Quote

Anyone know what's up with AA or where he is? I don't see him on the stats sheet for any NHL team. He did sign a 1 year deal with LA last December and put up 23 points in 46 games for the 20-21 season, but then I can't find anything. Update: I see an "IR" note on a contracts site, and that he may have re-singed with the Kings on a one-year $2.7mm deal (20-21 was $1.2mm) Edited October 28, 2021 by lordstanley Quote
