Anyone watch The Pitt?

Outstanding.

I went in thinking "Oh, another hospital show"

None have measured up to St. Elsewhere to me.

The Pitt blows it away.

Covered a lot of different issues in 15 hours.

So good. Like the way they formatted it also. (Real time hour by hour)

I guess they did announce it before and I just missed it.  I thought they may have just released it like they did one of the past seasons.

First 2 episodes were great.   Common People is fantastic.   Haven’t made it through but excited to see the last episode appears to be a USS Callister sequel.   The first was one my favorite episodes ever.

According to a lot of medical people - the medical part was pretty accurate, but some griped about no ER would be that chaotic in a single day, but stop for a second - it's a TV show.   I think a big part of this show's existence is to show America all the issues that these medical folks are dealing with and how maybe we should respect them more.   The charge nurse getting coldcocked is not far fetched at all.  Medical personnel get attacked all the time.  Especially nurses and female staff (because of gutless men who won't fight someone their own size).

Look, our society is **** right now.    I don't think it's hard to understand why certain people are where they are.  I blame Reality TV and it's insistence in putting people in constant confrontation  - normalizing it.  I blame the internet where you don't have to face someone to bully them and I blame the general spread of misinformation.   The Pitt covered a ton of it and they didn't even really scratch the surface.    The Measles Mom and her "Dr. Google" are a prime example.     I trust people with medical experience, not a website.    Websites can point you in the right direction, but they can point you down a dangerous rabbit hole.   If the boy with Measles had been moved to a different hospital, they would have told her all the same things, and she still would not have believed them, because "on the internet it says........."

Watched the first episode of LAST OF US Pt. 2 last night and it was spectacular. I’ve watched my son play both games all the way through and the games themselves are great.

And in last night‘s episode there were more homages to the game that you would only get if you were familiar with gameplay, but they were deeply satisfying and the story and the changes that will necessarily have to be made to bring the game to television are really great as were the changes they made for the first season as well.

It has now been proved beyond a shadow of doubt that you can make a good show about a video game, but you have to deeply care about the content of the game, but also be willing to change even important parts of the narrative to transfer it to the screen.

That said, the Uncharted movie did an abominable job of this and this is a game that I watched my son play also because it’s fantastic entertainment and he played all four games and then the fifth game that is tangentially related to the previous four. Hanging with my son when he plays video games has been one of the greatest bonding experiences in our relationship. And that’s not easy to do when you have a son who is 50 years your junior.

I am looking forward to the new season of The Last Us. Just like Fallout, I never played the video games but both great series.

I just binge watched season 1 over the weekend (The Last of us). I’m ready for season 2, but now will have to live with the “one episode a week” schtick. lol (also a fan of Fallout, and also have not ever even seen the video games.)

I much prefer the "one episode a week" cadence.  It makes for better viewing and you can absorb things better without moving on to the next one.  And I like the anticipation.  We've had company since Thursday so haven't had a chance to watch TV yet.  Have to catch up on Last of Us and Black Mirror.

Agree. I like binging but having pause does let you absorb what just happened. I am just getting old but when a new season starts I get kind of lost trying to remember how everything ended the last season.

I'm worried about that with The Last of Us.

And being a Star Wars and Marvel fan with all the TV shows it's hard to keep up.

It was by chance that I finally decided to watch The Last of Us, just within the last week…. and the bonus was that this was the weekend the new season was starting.

I’ll actually be fine one episode a week now, but for sure if I needed to remember what was going on when the original first season was ending until now….?  That would’ve been impossible. 🙂

(you say you’re only just getting old, but I am there already…😂)
