So I wanted a new one. Went to Cooperstown and every other storefront in the town is some kind of apparal/memorabilia/collectable outfit. I would have accepted classic styles for either the Tigers, Expos, Brooklyn Dodgers ,or a Negro league. Couldn't find a match. I did get a Tigers HOF T shirt listing all of them on the back, not just those listed on the wall at Comerica Park, for ex: Whitey Herzog and Eddie Mathews. They knocked it down to 2, Contemporoary (1980-Present) and Classic (Prior). Contemproary had their ballot in Dec 2022 and the cadence is every 3 years now. So I'll predict at least one of our starters gets traded for something Harris wants on this team. My guess is it's more Manning than Skubal... but I'm not willing to take a firm position on any of those guys. I think it could be anybody... Just a guess. And is Walker that significant of an upgrade over Keith or Jung, that you would surrender your ace? I do suspect that Skubal would be the starting pitcher to be traded, but I also think it would (and should) be an overwhelming haul in return. If he goes, I would like to think we’re getting our next catcher (here’s looking at you, Dodgers). If you're trading for him for the OF, maybe... But if this trade is only to solve our 3B issue, Walker is a WORSE option than Keith or Jung. Skubal is really good, but also a significant injury risk. Of course, other teams understand that about them which might limit what the Tigers could get in a deal. We are too thin to lose our star arm for "potential" that doesn't work out.
