buddha Posted January 26 Posted January 26 would you have traded a couple picks, raymond and kasper for rantanen? and then tried to sign him for 8×14? Quote
slothfacekilla Posted January 26 Posted January 26 I wouldn't give up Raymond in a Rantanen trade, it feels like you're still a player or two away and paying Rantanen top league money. It would need to be something more like Kasper + Danielson + whatever or something like that otherwise I don't see why you do it but I also don't know much! I do know that the Blackhawks were pretty dumb, I thought they got a third just for helping with retention and didn't realize Hall was gone. They might have a bad GM there lol. Quote
Motor City Sonics Posted January 30 Posted January 30 No Utah Yeti. The cooler company threatened to sue them. Ridiculous **** lawyers. The Red Wing shoe company never threated our hockey team. Quote

The naming of the Hockey team is more derivative. The team was named the Falcons when Norris bought it. As per Wiki, Norris had been a member of sports club in Montreal that had a logo with wings and wheels. Apparently he also liked red. Quote

The Utah Yeti had a great ring to it and the marketing would have been fantastic, but some stupid company had to get all lawyery about it instead of USING IT AS A WAY TO CROSS PROMOTE YOURSELF AND HAVE SOME FUN WITH IT !!!! So they own the word Yeti now? Like it didn't exist before they came along? Quote
Hongbit Posted January 30 Posted January 30 The Utah Wasatch could be the worst team name ever thought up. Quote

It's gonna end up being The Utah Hockey Team. I guess naming a team is an absolute nightmare now. Some stupid moron has probably copyrighted 200 names and will sue them for using it. Everything's just so broken now. Quote
Hongbit Posted January 30 Posted January 30 They should go with something that makes no sense to play along with the Jazz nickname. Utah Seals Utah Blue Wave Utah Wolverines Quote
lordstanley Posted January 31 Author Posted January 31 (edited) “Mesdames et monsieurs, bienvenue au Centre Bell”. Am at Wild @ Habs. My first Habs home game attended since 1989. Btw, they are back to booing the U.S. national anthem again, lame. Surprising, too, as they are usually thrilled when someone tries to stick it to Anglo-Canada. We had the Russian Five, the Canucks now have the Pettersson Three. Centre Elias Pettersson, defenseman Elias Pettersson (dubbed D Petey by fans) and defenseman Marcus Pettersson. Quote
