Is Raymond actively trying to avoid getting points ? You would think playing with those two …

Well...

After 3 assists tonight he has 5 points in 6 games.

But I think Larkin & DeBrinc are hogging all the points.

When the Wings gain control of the puck...they are much quicker in transition than they've been in years.  Puck's going the other way quickly

PS: Larkin becomes a better player with more explosive wingers (see above)...

We may be about to find out how much of Larkin's talent has been wasted playing on 8 yrs of bad teams. He's a decent sniper but his game is play making and he may finally have mates that can play to his level.

When evaluating our rebuild timeline...one of the knocks on the Wings from the Athletic guys was that we apparently lacked a top end scorer and a true 1C...I think we may have those things now

their underlying numbers are middle of the pack so i expect them to cool down.  however, the way theyre playing is different.  as has been noted they look more physical up front and more composed at the back.

the east is so stacked that they'll be in a tough fight and i still think they might come up short, but this is a better start to the season than almost anyone imagined.  its nice to see it.

They are playing fast now. The question is can they keep playing fast over an extended schedule or are they running down the team's long term batteries by performing above their true equilibrium energy level over a short stretch? IDK, but we can hope they can keep it up.

See what happens when you get rid of Kenny, you even get better looking.

Amazing what adding a real goal scorer can do for a team though. This team's hot steak is directly correlated to Debrincat coming in. I don't know what his WAR rating is, but it has to be a high number above his replacement from last season.

See, this is why I wanted Debrincat so damn bad this off-season. What a soring machine he has been. Obviously, his pace of play will slow down at some point this year, but really, truly, enjoy it while it lasts.

sure, we all wanted debrincat.

but YOU wanted to trade three first round picks plus prospects for him and thought that someone else would if we didnt.
