TNT announcers are horrible. I hope they don’t do many of our games.

It's torture listening to these guys.

Even when they're trying to be Detroit positive and interviewing Stevie Y.

They suck...

they really cant hang with the cindy/malkin/karlsson group.  they were double shifting and dominating detroit.

you can see detroit's depth in this game, but when pittsburgh's top stars were out there really trying, the wings couldnt match them.

In the 3rd I thought it took them too long to figure out they were getting too many people too deep and leaving the trailer wide open on every Pit rush. They seemed to finally start picking him up after the 3rd Pit goal, plus it helped the Wings that the Pit #1 line was reaching their energy limit on their last shift or two.  It was also sort of funny that each team's first goal was almost a mirror image of the same across the slot pass play, with the Pens losing track of Debrincat just like the Wings lost track of Malkin.

So much bad passing by the Wings in the 1st period though. Need to be less sloppy opening the game.

karlsson played almost 30 minutes.  he'll never keep that up.

pittsburgh is going to be gassed by the end of the season.

in other concerning news, walman and seider got worked.  that could be because - as g2 said - the wings seemed to go into prevent mode in the 3rd and baaically let the pens bring the puck into the zone.  the forwards stopped pressuring them in their own zone.  trying to prevent 2 on 1's or getting caught on a break is admirable, but at the expense of letting crosby and malkin gain the zone that easily?  it almost cost them the game.

5 goals and 3 assists:

Which is what Larkin and other Wings have been saying: they were surprised that he was not "just a sniper". He's carrying and controlling pucks, and a playmaker too... hence the 3 assists. He can extend play in the offensive zone.

More than pleasantly surprised so far.

Keep it up!
