RandyMarsh Posted November 1, 2023 Posted November 1, 2023 Carmelo is one of if not THE most overrated player in NBA history in my eyes. A volume scorer that did nothing else who never really elevated his team or teammates. In fact many of his teams got better once he left or got hurt. 1 Quote
RandyMarsh Posted November 3, 2023 Posted November 3, 2023 Victor went beast mode on the Suns particularly in the 4th when things got dicey for the Spurs. Reminded me of some of the times prime Lebron would just take over games by himself. Scary to think it was just his 5th or 6th game. Btw screw the NBA lottery! Quote
Deleterious Posted November 4, 2023 Author Posted November 4, 2023 These tournament courts are so awful. Quote

Deleterious Posted November 8, 2023 Author Posted November 8, 2023 Sort of interesting because Houston has zero bench right now and he still can't get run. Nice to see a team using the G-League. 1 Quote

LOL I just try to avoid looking at the NBA draft lists from the last 10yrs. 😭 Well, who knows, maybe Thompson, Duren and Cunningham will finally be the core that pans out. Betrayer Posted November 8, 2023 Posted November 8, 2023 Ausar is 3rd in the latest Kia rookie ladder. The fact that he's outrebounding both Wemby and Chet is pretty amazing, as well as his 5x5 potential. Amen isn't on the list. Sasser is 8th. https://www.nba.com/news/kia-rookie-ladder-nov-8-2023-edition Quote
Deleterious Posted November 9, 2023 Author Posted November 9, 2023 I think Silver is a pretty good commissioner. But this idea is absolutely terrible. The NBA is not the NFL. The NFL draft is interesting into the deep rounds. Sometimes, the NBA draft isn't even interesting until the end of the lottery. Quote

It might not be interesting, but from a functional standpoint, the draft could probably start going deeper with the NBA having developed a more formalized minor league system. The comparison to football shows the two round draft was originally apt. Before the g-league, neither sport had a minor system and football drafted 6 rounds into a 53 man roster, while basketball drafted two rounds into a 15 man roster. That's pretty comparable. If it got/gets to where to each NBA team carried another 15 players assigned to the G league, doubling the draft to 4 rounds would follow - roughly. Edited November 9, 2023 by gehringer_2 Quote
Deleterious Posted November 10, 2023 Author Posted November 10, 2023 A few of those guys are more shot blocker and less defender. Quote
