gehringer_2 Posted November 26, 2023 Posted November 26, 2023 The Wings still look bad against the fastest teams in the league (who doesn't) but if the goaltending holds up their depth should carry them into the playoffs. And maybe Edvinsson can add a little more to the mix. Quote
lordstanley Posted November 27, 2023 Author Posted November 27, 2023 And here's the offensive productive at the 1/4 mark. DeBrincat has slowed from his torrid start, but is still roughly a point per game, as is Larkin and surprisingly Gostisbehere. Most players' G-A-Pts look as good as I would have expected, except Veleno and Rasmussen. Probably would have expected more points from Copp and Seider by now, I guess. Quote
slothfacekilla Posted November 27, 2023 Posted November 27, 2023 I have really enjoyed the Compher signing in addition to the Gostisbehere deal. 1 Quote
buddha Posted November 27, 2023 Posted November 27, 2023 chairot and holl leading the team in +/- just like we all predicted... 1 Quote
slothfacekilla Posted November 27, 2023 Posted November 27, 2023 Shocked that Hartman got suspended two games for the slewfoot of DeBrincat. I agree with it, but it wasn't even penalized and they haven't suspended other similar stuff. The NHL remains unpredictable with punishments. Also the Wild just fired their head coach so you're welcome Minnesota I guess. Quote

Redmond thought it was Hartmann arguing it was unintentional and it looked like Mortitz basically telling him he didn't care if it was or wasn't. Quote

Ya Dumba and I want to say....Greenway are gone? They both played hard/dirty-ish in my opinion. Plus Ryan Reaves if he can keep up with the play. 1 hour ago, gehringer_2 said: It was interesting to see Hartmann really having an extended 'discussion' with Seider when they went to the box. I am a bit shocked Hartman didn't drop his gloves there, if Seider keeps going at guys like that someone is going to fight him whether Seider really wants it or not. Quote

I expected a big strong Euro like Moritz to play the placid enforcer type in the NHL, but instead he's turned into maybe the edgiest player on the team. I guess that's fine as long as he can stay out of the box. If he develops too much of a rep that might get more difficult. Edited November 28, 2023 by gehringer_2 Quote
buddha Posted November 28, 2023 Posted November 28, 2023 one year deal so it's not that big of a risk. who goes down? i assume kane goes on a line with larkin and debrincat? Quote

slothfacekilla Posted November 28, 2023 Posted November 28, 2023 Not much risk at the price (plus just one season) but I honestly don't expect anything from him. It'll be interesting to see how they use Kane. Quote
lordstanley Posted November 28, 2023 Author Posted November 28, 2023 I’m a bit confused by this. Quote

Jason_R Posted November 28, 2023 Posted November 28, 2023 Welcome Patrick Kane. Hope you have some game left, but it ain’t my money. Quote
Sports_Freak Posted November 29, 2023 Posted November 29, 2023 (edited) No player has ever come back from the surgery Kane had? "The history of NHL players returning from hip resurfacing surgeries isn’t encouraging, though. Capitals star Nicklas Backstrom underwent the same operation in June 2022, returned to action in January 2023, and lasted only 47 games before stepping away from hockey again earlier this month. Former NHL players Carl Hagelin, Ryan Kesler and Ed Jovanovski each were unable to significantly restart their careers after hip resurfacing surgeries, as well." https://chicago.suntimes.com/blackhawks/2023/11/28/23979400/patrick-kane-red-wings-blackhawks-alex-debrincat-nhl-signing Edited November 29, 2023 by Sports_Freak Quote
slothfacekilla Posted November 29, 2023 Posted November 29, 2023 Alright this is cool, I didn't think I would care much about it but seeing Kane in the winged wheel is kinda neat. It is like a Chelios all over again. Quote
lordstanley Posted November 29, 2023 Author Posted November 29, 2023 According to this presser summary from the Grind Line Podcast, Kane is targeting his first start in 7-10 days. Buffalo, San Jose or Ottawa. 1 Quote
slothfacekilla Posted November 30, 2023 Posted November 30, 2023 I feel like Rasmussen hasn't looked very good this season so far, disappointing after he played well pre injury last season Quote
