I agree completely............as long as FSU is ranked 4th.

If FSU is third, I think Washington clearly deserves the #1 seed.

I think that it would be total bs to keep FSU out of the Top 4.   Only 3 undefeated teams in the country and all 3 should be in the playoff.   Then it becomes Texas or Alabama and Texas beat them on their turf and it should be a no-brainer.  What, is the SEC gonna take their ball and go home if they don't get in?

There’s zero doubt in my mind that the final rankings should be

(1) Michigan v. (4) Florida State in the Rose Bowl

(2) Washington v. (3) Texas in the Sugar Bowl

Debate between (3) and (4) is understandable. Debate between Texas and the team they beat by 10 in their house? Nope.

Didn’t a 12-1 (or 11-1?) Ohio State and the Big 10 get left out one year? Maybe this is the SEC’s year to miss. Their collective non-conference record wasn’t great. Georgia’s biggest win is Missouri? Florida St beat a ranked SEC team in LSU. Texas beat Alabama by 10 on the road and the margin of play was at least as decisive as the scoreline.
