Saints were 0-5 in the red zone last week.  3 for 3 this week.   Aaron Glenn can go to the ****ing moon.  This is the worst defense in the league by a mile.  Can’t stop ****.  **** them.

It was all Aubrey Pleasants fault last year. I don't know who to blame this year, but we can't blame the person calling the plays and setting the scheme. That much I do know.

When they didn’t fire Glenn out of the GB game it pretty much defined our season. Will still make the playoffs likely, but have no chance with this defense.  Even if the win today, there is little optimism to take away. Another large step back.

5 out of 6 games where they've looked like garbage for the most part. The book is out on them now and they've been exposed as a result.

Also, Ben Johnson has called a garbage game today. Not running enough when they were up 21-0, no misdirections, a pitch to Montgomery on another possession that stood out as WTF. Just a bad team right now.

Did Irvin get a sack in his only snap? Then get relegated to the bench?

No ability to generate consistent pressure with the personnel you do have, so the one new guy you bring in gets one snap, gets a sack, and then he's rotated right back out. I'm not the coach on the field and I don't know diddly about these guys and how they want to use them ultimately. But I don't understand a situation like this and why Irvin wouldn't see the field but once.

The defensive ineptitude is as much on Holmes as it is on Glenn. He gave him someone coming off an ACL tear as his CB2 and completely neglected the other side of the defensive line from Hutch. Even when injuries happened, he stood pat at the deadline.

We had needs everyone could see and we chose not to address them.

I really, really like a lot of what Brad Holmes has done. But that doesn't make him infallible or immune to criticism. He's had a number of whiffs on defense in particular. Some are as you mentioned above. As well, drafting a 350lbs. DT with back problems and almost trading up for the guy. Drafting Josh Paschal and getting nothing out of him. Passing on Jalen Carter for a RB. Resigning Harris, Romeo, and Cominsky to be your primary pass rushers opposite Aidan and getting nothing out of them.
