slothfacekilla Posted December 19, 2023 Posted December 19, 2023 Husso is out for a while it looks like, Wings are suddenly really hurting in the goalie department with Lyon out too woof Quote

lordstanley Posted December 21, 2023 Author Posted December 21, 2023 Wings desperately need to stop the bleeding, but are trailing 2-1 to Winnipeg midway through. Quote
Tigerbomb13 Posted December 21, 2023 Posted December 21, 2023 (edited) The team is really bleeding out now. The Yzerplan isn’t working as quickly as we hoped. Is the singer for INXS starting in goal next game? Edited December 21, 2023 by Tigerbomb13 Quote
motownblues Posted December 21, 2023 Posted December 21, 2023 So, we sign Kane and the team falls apart. Quote
lordstanley Posted December 21, 2023 Author Posted December 21, 2023 Kane makes it 4-2. Will this be another time when we come back from a big deficit but still fall short? Quote
lordstanley Posted December 21, 2023 Author Posted December 21, 2023 The Wings must lead the league in giving up 5 goals a game. Quote
lordstanley Posted December 21, 2023 Author Posted December 21, 2023 7 losses in 8 games, 3 points. Terrible. I really thought the Wings played through 25 games, almost 1/3 of a season, was more sustainable. They were getting depth scoring, had a strong goal differential, winning games in regulation. Sure, the Larkin injury was dirty, the Compher injury at same time was less than ideal timing, and then you add the Perron suspension and a bunch of games crammed into a tight timeline. But still, this stretch can change the whole season. Quote
ben9753 Posted December 21, 2023 Posted December 21, 2023 Seems like the last 3 years have been the exact same story. Some early season success, we all get excited that they are turning a corner, and then Poof, it's all gone in a 2 week span. And we'll try again next year... Quote
MichiganCardinal Posted December 22, 2023 Posted December 22, 2023 Me: “remember MichiganCardinal, you’re broke as a joke and can’t go over-budget on Christmas gifts again this year” Also me when shopping for my hockey playing nephew on a “$50” budget: 1 Quote
Sports_Freak Posted December 23, 2023 Posted December 23, 2023 Patrick Kane has almost 12 minutes to get a natural hat trick. Quote
lordstanley Posted December 23, 2023 Author Posted December 23, 2023 Wings off to a badly-needed quick start. 3-1 lead. We know the Wings are more than capable of coughing up a lot of goals though. Quote
lordstanley Posted December 23, 2023 Author Posted December 23, 2023 4-1 now. Surely 4 goals will be plenty. Ha. Quote

We will just have to accept a regular hat trick. 5-1 Wings after 1 Edit: I’m wrong, Ghost not Kane for the 5th goal Edited December 23, 2023 by lordstanley Quote
lordstanley Posted December 23, 2023 Author Posted December 23, 2023 5-3 after 2. Half the lead gone, and a full period left to possibly blow the rest. Quote
lordstanley Posted December 23, 2023 Author Posted December 23, 2023 5-4 midway theough 3rd. Hope not a bad omen that I’m about to run into Safeway for groceries, just like what I was doing during the SJ 4-0 to 4-4 game. If I was a better fan, I’d probably starve myself for the food or team rather than tempt fate like this. I might get some pushback from my wife and daughter though. Quote
motownblues Posted December 23, 2023 Posted December 23, 2023 Anyone see a difference with a Blashill coached team and a Lalonde coached team. Quote
lordstanley Posted December 23, 2023 Author Posted December 23, 2023 6-6. Win or lose, this team was a hot mess right now. Quote
slothfacekilla Posted December 23, 2023 Posted December 23, 2023 Kane has been way better than I thought he would be, he puts in the shoot out winner 1 Quote
