2023-2024:  15-12-4=34 points. 5th in Atlantic. 11th in East. 1 point behind final Wild Card spot.

2022-2023:  13-11-7=33 points. 6th in Atlantic.  12th in East. 5 points behind final Wild Card spot.

2021-2023:  15-13-3=33 points. 4th in Atlantic.  8th in East.  Held final Wild Card spot.

So, we sign Kane and the team falls apart.

Kane makes it 4-2. Will this  be another time when we come back from a big deficit but still fall short?

The Wings must lead the league in giving up 5 goals a game.

7 losses in 8 games, 3 points. Terrible. I really thought the Wings played through 25 games, almost 1/3 of a season, was more sustainable. They were getting depth scoring, had a strong goal differential, winning games in regulation. Sure, the Larkin injury was dirty, the Compher injury at same time was less than ideal timing, and then you add the Perron suspension and a bunch of games crammed into a tight timeline. But still, this stretch can change the whole season.

Seems like the last 3 years have been the exact same story. Some early season success, we all get excited that they are turning a corner, and then Poof, it's all gone in a 2 week span. And we'll try again next year...

Wings off to a badly-needed quick start. 3-1 lead. We know the Wings are more than capable of coughing up a lot of goals though.

5-4 midway theough 3rd. Hope not a bad omen that I’m about to run into Safeway for groceries,  just like what I was doing during the SJ 4-0 to 4-4 game. If I was a better fan, I’d probably starve myself for the food or team rather than tempt fate like this. I might get some pushback from my wife and daughter though.
