Another game, another day in the Dylan Larkin saga

A lot of empty seats in Buffalo despite the strong start. Difficult Canadian border rules can’t be helping.

Pius Suter gave the Wings a very early lead, which they still hold with under 7 minutes left in 1st.

Two goals within a minute and suddenly the Wings trail 2-1.

Raymond should have been warded a penalty shot. Trail 3-1 now with only 7 minutes left.

Not dead yet. Bertuzzi makes it 3-2, assisted by Raymond and DeK

Overtime, but after the way the final few minutes of regulation went I won’t be satisfied with an OT loss. No reason Wings can’t go out and win this now.

Nice steal but I think Bert could have taken a couple more steps before shooting.

Seider wins it in OT.  Bertuzzi immediately grabbed the puck.

What a beautiful shot by Seider.

That was a great 3rd period.  Bertuzzi had 2 goals and 2 assists.  Raymond had 3 assists.  Suter with a goal and assist.  Really need to get another line going.  Valeno seems to be the only one on his line doing anything.

It would be too simple to have a good player who is not a head case. I just hope it's not going to turn out that we have two players who have become head cases. But FWIW, Blashill doesn't seem to sound frustrated by whatever is going on with Larkin.

If Larkin is suffering from some kind of mental health condition can you please not classify him as a head case?  It’s a terribly archaic way of thinking.

Is that what is going on? We have no idea - he could on a bender or have a sick Mum or they could be playing games avoiding the injured list for all we know. So the answer to your question ends with the "IF".

Your are correct it is easy to be cavalier with language - but I find all the semi-faux secrecy in the NHL irritating so I'm a little cynical about it. Certainly if a player has a problem, deal with it, but it seems only the NHL gives you these nightly kabukis about player availability.
