Motown Bombers Posted January 21, 2024 Posted January 21, 2024 Lions and Goff have advanced to the NFC Championship before the Cowboys and Dak. 1 Quote
lordstanley Posted January 21, 2024 Posted January 21, 2024 How many HUGE interceptions to wrap up big wins have we enjoyed the past 2 months? Michigan over OSU, Lions over Minnesota towin NFC North, Michigan over Washington, Lions over Tampa. 1 Quote
Sports_Freak Posted January 21, 2024 Posted January 21, 2024 I was really confident. Even the negative posters on MTS couldn't kill the confidence. Quote
RedRamage Posted January 21, 2024 Posted January 21, 2024 As the resident promotor of the forgotten Michigan holiday Champions Day, this pissed me off: 1932?? 1932?!? come on NBC... get your crap together. The team wasn't even in Detroit in 1932. Ugh... Quote
RandyMarsh Posted January 21, 2024 Posted January 21, 2024 (edited) Wait TB actually did have a TO left when the Lions took that last knee? I thought it was just a mistake on the graphic but during the presser a reporter asked Bowles why he didn't use it and he said something to the extent of "They were already in FG so it would've been a 2 score game with under 30 seconds left" WHAT?!?!? I would be so pissed if I was a Bucs fan right now if my coach just threw in the towel with potential time left in the game. Yes it would've taken a miracle but a .01% chance of winning is better than your season being over. Edited January 21, 2024 by RandyMarsh Quote

Motor City Sonics Posted January 21, 2024 Posted January 21, 2024 Tell ya what, Hats off to Baker Mayfield. I knew he was tough when he carried Cleveland a few years ago when he was all beat to hell, but he's a hell of a competitor 1 Quote

Me too, like I said I thought it was a mistake on the graphics part or something cause if they did have a TO it didn't make sense to 1 not use it and for two the Lions to snap it so fast. That makes me thinking the Lions didn't think they had one cause they snapped it with 14 seconds left on the play clock on 2nd down and like 10 or so on 3rd down. Quote
NYLion Posted January 21, 2024 Posted January 21, 2024 That Dan Miller call (with Lomas fanboying in the background) gave me the goosebumps. He's a treasure 1 Quote

I mean, there's (virtually) no chance of getting it, but... still... a blocked FG, returned for a TD... it could happen. I'd be more than a bit po'd if they just gave up without an effort. Quote
Motor City Sonics Posted January 21, 2024 Posted January 21, 2024 (edited) Remember draft night when we were all wondering what the hell they are doing? Gibbs, Rookie Of The Year candidate LaPorta, ROTY candidate Brian Branch, Defensive ROTY candidate And Jack Campbell looked promising playing a very tough position. That's the kind of position that takes 2-3 years to really master, so I have a lot of confidence in him. They have this formula called GPS, Game Play Speed. Nobody knows what the exact formula is, but my goodness, it sure has worked so far. THIS IS JUST THE BEGINNING. Sure, they could take a step back with a tougher schedule and some bad breaks, but this is a team that looks like it's going to be a serious contender for at least another four years. Those players will run through fire for their coach and I think the reason is that their coach would run through fire for them. When he lost it and cried after that Minnesota game, some folks ridiculed, but I think it showed the guys on his team that he hurts as much as they do after a tough one. Very unreal feeling 1989 We won the NCAA Basketball and NBA titles. Could we repeat that with football this year? It's totally in play. No matter what they do next week. Just WOW ! Downtown is probably fun right now. Edited January 21, 2024 by Motor City Sonics Quote

They're chances were slim but a blocked FG and run back would probably be their only hope. I'm not sure if there would have been too much time on the clock for Goff to just run around on 4th down. Mr.TaterSalad Posted January 21, 2024 Posted January 21, 2024 Lions coaches have made plenty of moronic decisions that have impacted the game. About time we get one that is the opposing coach and acts in our favor. Quote

Even with of the big "Brock Party" play... I'm not too worried about Wright being out, but Jackson would suck. Quote
