lordstanley Posted January 26, 2024 Posted January 26, 2024 If the Lions win and a pumped up Campbell slaps Shanahan on the back after a quick handshake, will Shanahan go off on him and chase after him? Quote
holygoat Posted January 26, 2024 Posted January 26, 2024 Deebo is gonna play -- it's the NFCCG -- it's just a question of how effective he'll be. Quote
RandyMarsh Posted January 26, 2024 Posted January 26, 2024 When do the Lions fly out? Just curious cause I was wondering about their practicce situation and if they are or will atleast be able to get 1 practice outdoors since they've haven't played outside since Chicago like 6 or 7 weeks ago. Quote

WXYZ said today's was the "second to last practice before heading to San Francisco". So, Allen Park tomorrow and fly out Saturday morning? Don't know. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MePA3iAVrMc Quote
MichiganCardinal Posted January 26, 2024 Author Posted January 26, 2024 I believe they will do a light practice tomorrow, fly out tomorrow night or Saturday morning, and do a walkthrough on Saturday afternoon. Typically, Wednesdays are a warm-up day, seeing how injuries feel and such, Thursdays are their most “real” or hardest practice of the week, some continuation of that on Friday depending on the week and game plan, and then Saturday is a walkthrough. RandyMarsh Posted January 26, 2024 Posted January 26, 2024 At last look the estimates are 22% of tickets are Lions fans, not sure how accurate that is but if it indeed is accurate that should be a huge boost for the Lions. Maybe not so much for them being there cheering them on but in the sense that would be 22% less people making a ton of noise and trying to disrupt them while the Lions are on offense. Quote

I've seen that, but I find that hard to believe. It's an NFC championship game, no season ticket holder is going to give that up. The Lions, although they have dedicated fans, are based thousands of miles away. I'm guessing it might be 5%, or 3,000 people. By the way, the cheapest re-sale seats have come down, not unexpectedly, by around 25% from Sunday night. Plenty available in the $450-$475 range (before TM fees and tax) for people who want to just get in the door. Edited January 26, 2024 by lordstanley Quote
romad1 Posted January 26, 2024 Posted January 26, 2024 Watched a Madden sim last night on youtube. Hope the outcome is better than that. Basically we had a harder time running the ball than we did at home. Not sure the Pride of Detroit Madden sim has happened yet. Quote

I can't see any Lions' season ticket holder doing that, but the Lions' haven't been good in decades. You need to go back 30+ years for the last time the Lions were in the NFC Champ Game. This is history for the Lions. For the 49ers you need to go back all the way to... January of 2023. Before that you need to go back to... January of 2022. Before that? January of 2020 when they won the NFC Championship. This isn't a "once in a generation" event for 49ers fans so if you can resell tickets and make hundreds, maybe thousands? I won't be surprised to see season ticket holders do it. 2 Quote

By 2014, it was a fairly easy ticket to get. 1 Quote

For reference, in 2012, I sold my game 3 tickets to the WS for $500 a piece the night the Tigers beat the Yanks in the ALCS. That was an early game because it was postponed from the night before, even though it never rained until after midnight. I remember it well becaus I went to the bar after the game and got the alert that they sold, which made me happy. I was worried for the reasons you state. The face value was $190, so it covered my game 4 tickets, which is good because by that point they were down 0-3, and while I wanted my team to win, I knew a win would cost me another $190, so I wasn't disappointed when they lost game 4. Mr.TaterSalad Posted January 26, 2024 Posted January 26, 2024 I hate to ask this question, but I am going to ask it. If they get absolutely run off the field like they did in the Baltimore game how would you feel? Quote

When I first got these Lions season tickets in 2021, I remember talking to people about a hypothetical NFC Championship Game at Ford Field. In a far off dream-like hypothetical kind of old man way, not a "really Jordan Love?? we were that close!!" kind of way... I remember saying that I would entertain possibly selling my really nice tickets for a ton of money and then buying some nose bleeds with part of the profits.... Having been within a game of it though this year? No way. Any sense of financial responsibility went out the window. I was overjoyed when the Lions were pulling money from my account for the divisional round. Who needs groceries when you can go to a Lions home playoff game?! In six years though? I might be back to my hypothetical solution. I kind of hope so, because it will mean the novelty has worn off some. We'll see. I do think baseball is a little different with it being up to 3 or 4 games, rather than one win-and-you're-in game. Quote

Happy with the season of course but to get trucked like that Baltimore game or Philly in the playoffs back in the mid 90s would put a bit of a damper on things for me. Mainly cause I feel like all the good we did this year will just get cast aside by many folks and all we will hear about is that loss and how we aren't close to the big boys. Quote
